Its the same logic they have tried to apply to ret paladin over the years. “slow moving hard hitting juggernaut” was their words for what they wanted ret to be in legion onwards. Even in DF they didn’t make this much better at all for paladins in general with how we had to put 3 points into steed in the class tree just to get it to a semi decent state. This never works out when you have 80% of the classes in the game far beyond mobile. 11.0.5 rework makes this better finally and paladin is more mobile than priest regardless.
They either need to take a look at mobility creep and dial things back, or they need to realize that while its fine for a class or two to be slower than the rest, priest is -too- slow with how much mobility has been added post SL. We didn’t really get much added to the hero talents while some of the more mobile classes/specs somehow got more mobility.

It’s not an unreasonable demand. Oracle already gives a slight nod to this reality, raising mobility of feathers by 10% and making PoM apply shield which synergizes with Body & Soul and double dips with self-shielding.
But modern encounter design is frequently calling for not just faster movement in general but the ability to rapidly redeploy and the priest toolkit just doesn’t have anything for that, and helping others redeploy isn’t a substitute.
If they were really dead-set on priest having to be the slowest spec in the game (in terms of burst mobility) then it should be compensated by being tankier or even with an immunity, but they don’t do that either.

Nitpick, but Shaman after rework is at least a 7, with a very strong argument for 8 currently.
Ghost Wolf is passive 60%, they have Gust of Wind or Spirit Walk depending on whether they want a leap to counter displacements or a long duration 60% speed boost that also breaks roots. Then they also have raid-wide 50% in Windrush.
Finally, Ghost Wolf stacks with all of the aforementioned, so they can really move extremely quickly whether sustained or in a burst.
Whereas Body and Soul doesn’t stack with Angelic Feather, and only takes into account the highest speed boost you got for some ungodly reason.

Shaman is Blizzard’s other favorite class to crap on. Remember them taking away gust of wind because “it’s too much like mage”?
They might be the only class that gets consistently shafted more than our shadow spec.

I’d put them at a 6 on second thought. The rule for 7+ on my scale was they had to have 2 separate ways to counteract knockbacks / Travel A-B without moving.
Unique Spell Animations for Dracthyr Priests in 11.0.5 - Wowhead News
And now Dracthyr get unique Priest visuals.
I’m telling y’all it’s Blizzard’s plan.
- Give Priests no movement spells despite us begging for like 6 years now
- Give healer priests no interrupt, which we’ve also been begging for
- Take away our knockback
- Give Dracthyr improved speed via glide jump, an interrupt, and a separate knockback
GIVE DRACTHYR UNIQUE PRIEST VISUALS

They’re too busy making this to provide a glyphs of old shadow form. Not a chance in hell I’m playing as a skinny dragon.
They can spec into 3 different movement abilities that are all individually stronger than BnS or Angelic Feather that also all stack with each other and have 2 of the best types of aoe stops in the game(knockup and stun).
They also get to keep the shortest cd interrupt in the game while at it.
As the cherry on top, they have a fairly short cooldown to move faster while casting on the move, and both of their hero trees meaningfully solve certain parts of their longstanding class weakness with immobility by giving them additional instant casts.
That doesn’t seem “consistently shafted” to me.

My alts are a BM hunter and a Brewmaster Monk, you can imagine how I feel when I get back to my priest.

At this point I’m convinced our mobility is just having an Augvoker with the wyrmstone thing that gives us a 1.5sec cast-while moving 100yard range blink to the evoker…
Fade should either be shadow or holy empowered and give movement speed
I might race change for the apotheosis visual, and as a non gatherer soar is pretty good. The little jump glide is way overrated for PvE
But then they got Gust of Wind back. Meanwhile, priest didn’t get a whole bunch of abilities back because they’re too much like mage, Blizzard stole Shining Force from priest to give to shaman, and mage got Super Rapture for no apparent reason.
Shaman has had issues, but Blizzard doesn’t try to give shaman the shaft - it was all just accidental. They do try to give priest the shaft, and they’ve spoken about all the ways they want priest to be bad while trying to undermine it whenever it’s good.

Look at silence as a prime example. For a very long time silence was the most powerful caster lockdown. Now even if you successfully interrupt someone, counterspell has a longer lockout.

Absolutely not. I watched some videos of the dracthyr using priest cast animations and it was an abomination.

Over rated? Or overpowered.
The jump glide is almost 40% faster than regular running. Utilizing it would be a huge boost to priest mobility.
And less than half the cooldown. Can’t ever mention Silence without also mentioning that it has a 45 second cooldown for no reason other than it had a 45 second cooldown twenty years ago when hybrid classes got weaker versions of dedicated damage class abilities.

Where did you find these videos? Cant find them anywhere. Specific link, please?
It was on wowhead.
Dracthyr got special animations for priests because having them sprout angel wings would look silly. So instead their wings glow purple/gold when using Dark Ascension and Ultimate Penance
