Anyone else suspect that the game is almost at it’s end?
Blizzard moving everything to discord including their customer service abandoning their forums and official websites. Other big gaming studios done this too years ago and are now regretting it and or starting to regret. Discord ceo has ties to very evil people, top 5 most toxic online platforms, has age verification that is inaccurate and not secure, and is very disorganized cluttered along with impossible to find specific comments. Social media is no replacement for official platforms. Companies will do this cause they are lacking in money.
Raising prices is another one. The costs of recent in-game shop items are more expensive than the actual game itself and it might get worse from here. They think making things more pricey will get them more money but in reality it doesn’t cause no one wants to buy overpriced virtual items. It will only end up leaving worse reviews for everyone to see.
The story of this expansion is not very well written and makes no sense. Female and male characters power without doing anything to earn it. Making characters who are best friends to be labeled Removing all classic wow stories and replacing them with modern stuff. Light is evil and darkness is good confusion. Trolls are not the ancestors of elves even knowing they are. It’s like what the heck is going on here and why?
Everything else in the game looks cheaply made, full of bugs, and “you know.” They claim it’s all a big mistake and yet they won’t do anything to improve. It’s almost like they’re messing up their own game cause the higher-ups along with outsiders are telling them to do these things or don’t and receive threats. So is it really blizzard fault or the shareholders? I say it’s all the above. They chose to act on it cause they have no choice. What comes around goes around.
Then there are double standards. That’s self-explanatory.
Who knows this game could last at least 5 more years and if not then see results.

Things are in a bad spot but people have been saying the game is on its last legs for years. I imagine it’ll at the very least limp along for another decade. They have some very aspirations about it becoming a “third place” like Fortnite and I’d actually like to see that level of life breathed into it but I don’t know of Blizz/soft has the execution ability for that.
Personally I’m taking a break for a bit after this month to wait for things to improve but I’d love to come back if they do.

They obviously didn’t abandon the forums because blue posts still get CCed here.
I agree that Discord is made and maintained by scumbags, but basically every gamer and a lot of non-gamers use Discord, so it makes sense for them to have a presence there.
Prices go up because the cost of everything has gone up. You forget that Blizzard is a company with shareholders.
Everything else is a valid point.
Conclusion: 20 more expansions greenlit as a result of this post
Uh. Source? I don’t think this is true one bit, unless you mean that ambassador thing which, as far as I know, is not customer support, but a ‘help newer players out’ thing.
The customer service forum is very much active, and whatever tickets I file are replied to, so I have no idea what you’re talking about.
Then don’t buy them. If they don’t make money, they’ll stop doing it. If people want to spend their money on that, that’s their choice. I wouldn’t, but that’s me. We find value in different things.

No? Lady Liadrin has been a huge deal for a long time. Zul’jarra seems like a very fitting leader for the Amani and certainly had to try to earn that title. Her arc was one of my favorite Midnight bits so far!

While there’s certainly a good number of bugs now, the game looking ‘cheap’ is certainly not something that’s true. The game looks amazing, despite the nasty stuff floating around.
Will I say the game is worse now than it was on launch? Yeah. Not for any of the ‘reasons’ you’re saying it is, though.
Actually, the reason why they post all the bugs to the discord and don’t have it on the official known issues support article on their official site is to keep ALL the problems out of view of the shareholders.
If the shareholders click on the official site and see “no problems in housing” or whatever, Then they feel more confident in their investment.
If they could find the third-party discord as easy and see all of the problems they list there, they might think twice about investing.
Companies move to Discord and Slack because they’re “offline” from search engines and GenAI answers. I posted about 89 being stinky and if your terms match that, AI shows this in the answer because wow forums are considered an “authorative” source.
Discord is closed loop and they appoint a bunch of super users to handle a portion of customer service - these are those communities that just got recognized. They get perks in exchange helping manage customer demands. These communities are already on Discord.
Discords (and Slack spaces) are also often companies replacements for social media, as people have further fractured on their mediums of choice. Yes, they also want less traffic on forums, but social media is generally a large driver here.

I just wish we had old Blizz back, they knew how to write stories and didn’t push for any micro transactions AND didn’t make male characters spineless crybabies!
Yeah that is what I am thinking. That is nothing to do with CS. It is a way to find the community groups that have existed for years. Blizz is not offering CS through Discord. To reach CS people need to put in a ticket through the game or website ticket system. There are no CS agents taking help requests on Discord or any other platform. The most you can get is someone telling you how policy works, how to use the ticket system, etc.
Of course they are making money on subs.. They are making money everywhere… If they don’t have a 100.00 item in the shop, they are leaving revenue on the table, and shareholders don’t like that.
