Going by your battle tag name instead of character name

It really, would not. The fact that you think it would just shows a lot about you and OP. It wouldn’t solve any problem, and would result in more harassment.

If you think PRIVACY is a bad thing, you could also post all your info and CC, etc here. Privacy is a non-issue? Go ahead, spout that again.

But that is not your reasoning. Your reasoning is basically, ‘I want it’. And based on that reasoning I vote no.

This idea, especially with the opt in/opt out option, will be intrusive. The choice will divide how players are seeing each other. Some (like you) will be seen as players. Others (like me) will be seen as characters. It will change the dynamic, reactions, ect, therefore intruding into the game.

You have been given plenty of solutions, that do not changes the game itself just because ‘you want it’, there is no reason you cannot apply one of them since this is ‘you’ problem.

I love that line. Am tucking it away in my mind for when I try to describe the game to non-players.

That’s not how a business works. If it costs at all - there has to be a good reason, and maintenance and ticket support is never cheap.

There is zero cost-justifying this.

Read the entire post before replying, it’ll help you.
Vanilla, people were held accountable for their actions.
If you were a jerk, you got ostracized, plain and simple.

As for the privacy thing, the anonymity of the internet is literally why the internet is such a cesspool right now lol

I am eret and shall be known as eret… Not whatever my btag is.

I’ll always be against any change that pushes WoW to be more account based over character based.

Blizzard should have never have used street numbers for your battle gag. Pick up a couple of other tidbits from someone like first name and the state they live in, or even country, and it’s probably not that hard to locate them in the real world.

I am not doubting that this was your experience, but on my initial server jerks were the cool-kids and got away with anything and had access to all end-game content. That was very plain and they were very simple.

Not just the internet, may want to check some news about what’s going on around the world. Won’t bring politics into it, but just know that your statement is incorrect.

If you played on Classic servers currently you’d find out how incorrect that is and just how it’s a byproduct of how it is these days. Those jerks are more likely to use made up stuff and blacklist people they like than anything else. Not just on the internet. People are ready to be more rude in person too. I did read your entire post before replying, but thanks Haku. ^^ Just giving my 2 cents on why this idea would be pretty awful for most people concerned.

That’s fine, but it still doesn’t mean there aren’t potential benefits. I just don’t see them or care about them :man_shrugging: .

Can you clarify what you mean when you say “seeing” As I noted here

I wasn’t thinking of names above your head only names in chat and I haven’t thought about names above your head. I personally play with those off. Do you play with those on? It doesn’t bother you when you’re in a big city and there’s a cluster of people all that text stacked above everyone? I personally find it to be ugly looking.

I’ve given my comments on the two that I recall being given. Did I miss some or was two “plenty”

Does this statement imply that I’m the only one with it and no one else has this or wants this?

Ok

It’s not Eret? :stuck_out_tongue:

I live in Bowling Green Virginia  It’s about 30 minutes north of Richmond VA, population of like 1200 . You wanna come hang out? There’s nothing here but all are welcome

Yeah, kinda sad its not NAME (Bethesda ID)

ESO does that
NAME
ACCOUNT NAME

Game would die

I hate this idea. My battletag is a shortened version of my previous main character’s name who was retired in WotLK. Just let him rest in peace at this point…

</3

Never! Bring him back, we need him!
