Going 70-80 on new alt takes forever

I have the +20% experience gain from warband characters already leveled to 80, too. It’s just taking way too long. It’s like I’m burned out before reaching 80 (My lil’ survival hunter is 79 right now). Specifically: burned of the things you do to level up.

I’ve looked it up and apparently people are doing it in 2 hours which is insane to me. I think if I were to guess, I’d say I have spent around 15 hours since level 70. And I’m not even 80 yet lol. Like 1 bar into 79.

Something that was really annoying - I was going around doing world quests and delves, and then I watched a leveling guide video on youtude that said that doing the campaign is the fastest. So I go to the crash site of Dalaran and start it up. 15 minutes later I’m back at Freywold Village and the next campaign quest is to do Earthcrawl Mines delve.

And I had literally just did Earthcrawl mines, like probably less than an hour beforehand. There’s no way to skip that quest either, like to say “Hey uh… I’ve already done that…” so, annoyed, I said eff it, I’m not doing it again right now. Thus my campaign progress stopped there, and I am forced to go back to the worldquests (all done), LFG dungeons, etc.

Your mistake was starting in the Isle of Dorn.

Start with Hallowfall. The quests are straightforward, the environment and characters are perfect, no mandatory delves.

If Hollowfall doesn’t take you up to 80 just move right ahead into Az kahet to finish it off.

I don’t think I can skip the campaign in isle of dorn and move to the campaign in hallowfall. Unless you’re talking about just the sidequests

Outside of Timewalking, which is great for exp if you spam that, I suggest questing and queueing for TWW dungeons at the same time. Or pick up a gathering profession or two if you want to do it casually.

Do all the Delves at Tier 1. The each give you 82K+ XP the first tie through.

Check with Brann in Dornogal. If he has a quest called “Adventuring in Khaz Algar” it’ll point you to skipping to the campaign quests in whichever zone you pick.

You’ve gotta be kidding me right now LOL I totally forgot this existed

If its taken you 15 hours something is wayyyyyyyyyyy wrong

Fastest method is timewalking dungeons while questing. Queue times are often seconds if you can tank or heal. Make sure to get the available 528 gear when you hit 71.

I found that 70 - 77 are very quick. It slows down after that.

They are and I have too. 10-12 TW Dungeons during a TW week will take you 70-80 in around that time.

Currently leveling what will be my 9th level 80. A blood dk, the only tank I didn’t level to 80 and gear yet. I’m 77 and in Hallowfall just off doing the campaign, near the end. Once I’m down, I’ll go back up to the Isle of Dorn and do side quests until 80. It is mind numbing work, I just put on a show or music I like and give’r.

But, there’s nothing wrong with going slow either, or taking 15 hours!

It would be much better if they just extended Chromie time to max level for alts IMO. Getting funneled through the same endgame content with all of the alts is really tedious.

Yeah it usually takes me awhile too even if I do the Delves it’s several hours to get to 80. No idea how others are zooming around unless they ate mountains of sugar and spammed tank in dungeons all day, which I won’t do.

Professions also give XP. On the first crafts at least. Pet battles give xp. Delves give massive XP though.

How can you not leave Dorn? I just got character number 2 to 80 last night just in those ways. And was able to go everywhere except Undermine.

Honestly probably wasn’t the ideal way to do it, but I friggin hate timewalking…

Anyways, I leveled an alt from 70-80 on timewalking week, so I did every delve once to do the quest which got me to like 75, almost 76, then did timewalking the rest of the way. Was done in a day easy, though idk what /played was.

I skip Hallowfall whenever I can. I just leveled an alt 70 to 80 this past weekend. Started in Spiderville, went to Dorn, finished in Ringing Deeps about halfway through the zone. Took about 5 hours split between Saturday and Sunday.

No it doesn’t?

It took me like 6 hours on this character just doing Timewalking. It’s insanely fast.

:joy: it was an honest estimation
