I went to transmog the mechanized snow goggles on my mage but I can’t use it unless I’m engineering but my main profs are herb and alchemy. is there any other way to be able to transmog them?
If the item requires a profession to use, so does its transmog. If there are any exceptions, I don’t know of them. And that item is obviously not an exception to the rule.
As far as I can tell, all the in-game goggles with that appearance requires engineering. There is a cosmetic item awarded for a rather hairy Engineering meta quest, and perhaps a cosmetic item appearance won’t have the same restrictions. I can’t tell just by looking at WowHead.
Editing to add: I just tested this by getting the achievement for Shadowlands engineering goggles (only 4 goggles to craft, and I had all the mats). The cosmetic appearances reward item added four appearances but those appearances are locked to vanilla Engineering 1, so that way won’t help either. Status quo, assume all engineering goggles are engineering only.
