Plugins are a don’t ask, don’t tell situation in FF14. Telling someone in a random party that you’re using a damage meter is actionable, for example. The DBM is interesting though. I have a voice pack installed and it’ll actually tell me where to go for certain mechanics. While it isn’t as necessary as in WoW, it helps a lot on savage stuff.
WOW have way more players than FF14 , you don’t know what u are talking about
I saw an ad for a streaming service in another streaming service, oh nooo!
Not using AdBlock lmao cringe
Because it isn’t part of the actual browser and like addons for WoW their experience is ruined .
They feel like they should have to run the risk of adds popping up even those with random malware .
Sounds like you looked for FF before and now get targeted ads.
So there I was needing a text editor for some language. No ads for it whatsoever.
I google an editor. And now…I get ads for days for it.
Same for eve. PLay eve. Play eve. PLAY EVE!
Didn’t see this for several years as I quit eve a bit. I load it up. I google stuff to get spun up. and now…I get targeted eve ads for days.
fun fact…site owners are usually lazy and have little to no control over what pops up in ad frames. they just rent out space to a service.
I do photography off and on. One dude by the name of Tom…he to cover his butt puts in text on his site I do not officially endorse any of the ads on my site. The ad service loads up whatever.
As he like many can’t be killing time approving 24/7 ad content lol.
Ive made a website more than once. And know a guy who got his degree in web design. What you said is partially true. It can cost a lot of money to run a website. Facebook last I checked took 93 million dollars a day to run. Much more now years later. And in order to pay for your site you can ask people to run ads on your site. They will pay you to have them on the site. If you are good at web design and know what you are doing then you can select who puts what on there. If you are bad at it you can just set it up to allow all adds and then anyone out there can put whatever they want on your site.
You can also set it up to where you have a software program and not even a human who will check to see if an add should be allowed there or not. The person applies, they get accepted and the add goes up and as long as it is allowed as you can select from what domains you want to allow to run adds.
Wowhead has a crap ton of them and they are now super full of misinformation. So I dont use them anymore.
Wowhead is getting lots of money to run FFXIV adds on there. It is a money only thing. It has nothing to do with whether they support them or not.
Addons don’t ruin the WoW experience.
Why when weebly or square space or w/e is free
Some people think it does . I said their experience .
I never said I believed they do . I actually use quite a few myself
Their experience is wrong then
Not sure why this is an issue. Do you even know everything Icy Veins covers?
Here, let me help you.

Yes another reason why I dislike wowhead is that I have from time to time seen sales for pilots and other carries on their site. It is not against the TOS because WoW TOS does not apply to them.
They have the power to remove that stuff and yet they do not. Even MT carries were solod on there only recently.
How can their experience be wrong ?
Is it not theirs . Is not how they play relevant to them and not how you or I play .
I personally think addons make the game better and I may say why I think they do , but I won’t tell another person their experience is wrong .
Yep.
Wow was getting the complicate mess it is now regardless. If the Jailor was as easy as Rag…there’d be rabble rabble.
Its been 17 years blizzard…time to lose tank and spank with move left and right. This would the be spirit of the rants.
If anduin was like onyxia…there’d be rants. Really blizzard…we can beat anduin 24 people completely naked in game?
Blizz could make Wowhead change it if they really wanted to. The official WoW site links to Wowhead in several places, so one bit of leverage would be to say unless you clean up your ads, we’re ripping all the Wowhead links out of the official site.
Wowhead also hosts loads of copyrighted content, which could allow Blizzard to threaten DMCA takedowns.
Except I’ve never looked up anything FF.
For years I thought addons was cheating and against ToS.
Prob other key words like mmo, WoW, whatever…
Icy-veins has like 30 games listed now for guides, etc… including ff14. Advertising to the customers of the competition is pretty basic marketing.
Guess I never really went past the wow page of icyveins lol.
