At lease Kong went for the head unlike Thor.
Pause the trailer at the 3 second mark to see Mechagodzilla.
As much as I want to see it, I feel it’s gonna be like KotM and we spend too much time with the boring humans. Kong: Skull Island was the only one, so far in this universe, to have good human characters. And the lack of trailers/promotional material from the studios is a very worrying sign. I’ll keep my expectations low but so far they haven’t done a good Godzilla movie.

I knew he was coming since the end of the KOTM. I saw the toy image and got idea what Mechagodzilla going to looked like. I got some ideas of why Godzilla is going war against the humans.
I been hearing that they trying to fix the human side story that had to become of a problem in KOTM. I do hope that would be the case.
It didn’t help with drama going on with WB and Legendary. Everyone complained that they shown too much in KOTM…So less is best I suppose.
Godzilla (2014) was pretty good that why we had more sequels, KOTM is mixed among the fan but it was a love letter to the fans.

So is godzilla a bad guy now and how does his beam not kill any living thing? Also, isn’t godzilla radioactive?

Something is pissing him off that he going on the offense. For one that we had release Ghidorah from his frozen prison, dropped an Oxygen Destroyer on him that nearly kill him and we blew up his home. Some theories that he either controlled by someone or he doesn’t trust humans anymore for they are threatening the balance.
His atomic breath doesn’t really one shot any other kaiju in this universe unless he hits in some kaiju’s throat like he did with the Female MUTO.
Yes he is radioactive that number one reason why Godzilla is one the dangerous kaiju on the planet, you can’t go near him without getting cancer that can be terminal. I believe Hollywood had ignored that fact.

Don’t ask me how but I managed to sleep with this thing like a teddy bear. Btw, I just wanted to take a moment to brag about my mom. She bought this toy for a little girl. How freaking cool was that?
Anyways! I loved Kong Skull Island, loved King of the Monsters, wasn’t crazy about Godzilla 2014 because the human story dragged the entire movie down but I got to see Godzilla (not the 1998 abomination) so I was happy.

As if Legendary’s Godzilla was the only films with this problem. Ever watched the Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla from the 70’s? It was mostly about the humans trying to stop the “Aliens” from dominating the planet; and like so little monster on monster action in comparison to the human plot. Though, for the time period, what monster on monster fighting we did get was good.

Ah the Black Hole Aliens. But yea the 70s for showa series were freaking weird. Some of them were decent…all expert All Monster Attack.
Both 1993 and 2002 feature a Mechagodzilla that was made by humans as a deterrent to Godzilla. 2002’s is my favorite design. All of these three, 1970, 1993, 2002/2003, had good stories involving the human characters. Outside of Kong: Skull Island, I haven’t cared for the humans. Killing of Bryan Cranston 10 min into the first movie did nor help at all.
Side annoyance: Why is the male lead another lazy slob that doesn’t shave? either grow a beard or pick up a razor. Yeesh!

I find it funny you think that. For I thought it was way worse (As far as the human story line goes) than either 2014 or KOTM, even for the time period it was in.
But that is just my opinion.
As for the Mechagodzillas from the 90’s/2000’s? I liked those way better. Especially the Millennium Mechagodzilla and Tokyo SoS where the Mechagodzilla was built around the bones of the original Godzilla that died in the first film.

Okay here’s my galaxy brain theory. Some terminator stuff is going on. That is Mecha Godzilla is wearing a godzilla appearance to frame him. All the fighting against Kong is a test mode. Near the end the real godzilla shows up and teams up with kong because mecha godzilla goes from test mode to full power.
That would ruin the film. The whole purpose of this movie is Godzilla vs Kong. Everyone wanted to see this rematch for a very long time. Even Toho was planning to make a Godzilla vs Kong remake for the Heisei Era, but due to legal Universal Pictures and Turner Entertainment who they own the rights for King Kong. So Toho tried to do a godzilla vs. Mechani-Kong idea. But Turner Entertainment said no, thus we got Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah instead. Sure let have Mechagodzilla in film but we need Kong to fight the real Godzilla. That what everyone wanted.
Bah the movie is delay to march 31st…Oh well waiting 5 days and avoiding the spoilers ><
