My Girlfriend and I were trying to follow the quest chain for reputation so we can farm “Mysterious Eggs” For the mount and pets that drop from the Revered Item. Unfortunately Lafoo The Oracle that follows you to find shiny things disappeared and the option to Call him forth from the shaman disappeared. We promptly abandoned the quest and relogged in hopes it would reset the area. We left and tried to go back and are still unable to continue with the Quest chain unfortunately.

Same issue, been trying everything and no luck
You can grab Lafoo’s Bug Bag to resummon Lafoo now. But now, there’s an issue where the piles of dirt are missing so you’re still hard blocked on this quest =)
