I’m starting anew in Cataclysm (currently just messing around with Deathknight in WoLK) and am torn between creating a goblin and creating a worgen. Which would you prefer between the two and for what reason?
I thoroughly enjoy being a part of the lore and watching the story develop over a long period of time. The continuity and long-lasting nature of a good mmorpg is best for me. I love that genre.
My reason for picking Worgen is that I can’t pull myself to play small races. I like when armor looks nice on the character model, and it looks smushed on small races, even tho some helms look weird on worgens. I do like some of the battle animations that worgen have, like doing a front-flip on certain attacks.

Play what you want … or even both.
Personally the worgens were a boring choice of race for the Alliance. Gilneas looks good but originally in Cataclysm had a few buggy as heck quests. Putting humans in top hats wasn’t really all that fascinating to me. There was more exposition for Sylvanas in Silverpine after the cataclysm than the Gilneans once your character “mastered” control after being cursed.
Gobs on the other hand are a race that more than a few people wanted as playable from the beginning. Kezan was hilarious as it should be and their cartel joining the Horde story isn’t too sappy. All that might grate on people that want to see their character as a hero of good at all times. Of all the zones that got a revamp for Cataclysm, Azshara was one of my favorites with the Goblin influence.
Yeah the lower pov could be an issue for some but I didn’t find it bothersome.
A+++ would go Gob again
I would go goblin think after cata horde will get stronger relative to alliance also I think goblin just have a passive haste buff which is nice.
