Hmmm this is interesting.
We know that Orc Shamanism, lead to Dark Shamans (by evil NPC), that turn to Necromancers and Warlocks in the Old Lore…(Before all the retcon).
So could Blood Elves or Nightborne use their magic to force the Elements to do their biding just like High Botanist Tel’arn (Shal’dorei Terrace) use his magic to use nature magic like a Druid crossbreed with a Monk? 
I know this would make them Dark Shaman’s at best… but it always makes me wonder…
I think what I like best about Goblin Shaman is that they highlight that there is nothing intrinsically magical or special about totems. Oh, you carved some totems into the shapes of Wild Gods or representations of your Sacred Ancestors - that’s cool, mine is this little machine I glued propellers on to so it would blow a little breeze.
The fact they work just as good despite looking like hunks of junk just never fails to amuse me.
im pretty sure goblin totems are built with elemental cores inside them that allow them to use elemental powers.
