So, just thought i would give people a friendly reminder on this.
This can backfire and it will very likely kill you.
My friend just died to this and its damage can vary from 4k-19k apparently (he took 7k). So just be safe out there. Maybe just make a new one instead of reloading. But its your life to risk lol… but it is apparently aoe damage so dont make these ontop of others.
I know a lot of people like to say “no changes” but considering the nature of HC I think it would be fair to make another engineering item specifically to prevent death from this because of the hardcore nature of the item.
Example
Gnomish engineering
Blast shield 9001. Trinket, boe
protects the caster from an explosion while working with volatile substances
This item is used on it protecting the user from an explosion and reduces damage taken from it by 90%
When it does this it turns into
hot pile of scrap
Flavor text
-that could have been me!
Sells to vendor for 1s.
Materials for it should be relatively cheap as it is only a fail safe item.
So 2 mithril bars and 1 gold power core would likely be reasonable. It also gives another reason to gnomish engineering and makes sence that gnomes saw goblins blowing themselves up and thought “lets not do that”
