Goblin Monks, Its time

It’s the perfect time to add goblin monks, and I guess worgen too. Since their models are getting updated, please add the monk class. Surely in Goblin travels due to trade, they ran into monks from some race. Besides, goblin and worgen are the only 2 races that lack this amazing class. Youd also earn money from me when I race change my pandaren to goblin.

Should goblin and worgen monks still play through the level 1-15 starting area, or should they just start in Orgrimmar and Stormwind instead?

Nah, even though the goblin starting area seems a bit long, it’s still a lot of fun. I just want my 2nd favorite class added to my favorite race.

I can think of some lore stories for goblin and worgen monks.

Goblin: Backstory is that you were some sort of thug, a ruffian. The ‘monk’ trainer on Kezan would be like a kneebreaker for a cartel boss. Then when you meet the monk trainer in Orgrimmar you ‘refine’ your skill.

Worgen: I could see bartitsu-type martial arts for Worgen considering how they are perceived as a Victorian-type settlement. Also the training of a monk will help you calm your inner beast and learn to focus your rage inward, using it to fuel your strikes and harness Chi in deadly ways.

I think the biggest problem is Greymane Wall.

It’d be easy enough for a wandering pandaren to have found their way to Kezan before it blew up, but it seems unlikely that Gilneans would have let one in during the time the worgen starting story happens.

I’d guess that, back in Mists anyway, they didn’t want to give goblins monks without also offering it to worgen.

Whatever the case, I agree. Let Lightforged draenei be monks, too!

They should start at 20, like allied races, but with the first quest being report to Tyrande/Genn or Warchief. As if they went through, but they didnt.

Goblins as brewmasters? Mixing alcohol and explosives sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I would just like to add goblins should be an allied race for alliance. It makes sense since there are so many goblin factions in the game. And Goblins are the master race so they should be available to all.

If a ton of new Allied Races are getting monks, I think it’s entirely fair for Worgen and Goblins to get monks too.

The usual justification for this is that a wandering monk got shipwrecked by the blockade and washed up at the docks (the ones you help secure shortly after your first transformation). Before that point, it would be assumed the Gilnean was some manner of unarmed fighter… possibly a boxer.

If they didn’t do it before, they aren’t going to retcon it this late in the game.

It wouldn’t be a retcon. It’s been years now, they could have learned how to be monks at this point. I mean, they gave gnomes hunter and give classes to races at different stages all the time.
