So I have been flying back and forth and reading different posts online for a couple hours now and cannot find out how, or if this is even possible for me! I am trying to build the Depleted-Kyparium Rocket, I already have my Pandarian Engineering to 75, and now it says I need Goblin Engineering… Where do I go to learn that???
Gob Eng was something you learned in Vanilla crafting.
Pretty sure you get that in Gadgetzhan.
Yep I checked there! I also checked in Ratchet in the barrens. Apparently I need some quest to unlock the goblin engineering but I can’t seem to find where it begins.

This is how you learned it before.
I think you just select it now though. I don’t think there is a quest anymore.
You can learn Goblin Engineering in Stormwind/Org, but you need 200+ skill in Vanilla Engineering to see the quest.
You will need to turn-in some materials for the quest to learn the specialization, which you can find here on Wowhead!
I did it a little while ago, there is still a quest, you need to get your classic engineering around 175 or 200 or so.
Eh, to be fair, it’s been a while since I’ve done it.
Those mounts (Gnome and Goblin) are really expensive to build. I got lucky and found them super cheap on the auction house several months apart. Easier than changing your engineering specialty and then having to buy the expensive mats.
Wow, I don’t remember it being that difficult. Then again, that was thirteen years ago, and I’ve slept since then.
It gets as difficult as you make.
Farm the mats. Or AH the mats. When I did it AH sellers kind of sort of knew what you need these for so they may not be cheap lol.
Time is money friend as the goblins say. Farm or pay others to farm lol.
Mounts are basically the big rewards, and I suspect it’s to give the player something to work for along their travels while doing other things. It becomes more of a grind when having to visit outdated content. My chopper took a bit, but then I was thinking if I was questing in Northern during the time it was hot, it wouldn’t have felt grindy.
Only thing I hate is the dreaded take enemies down to 30% health quests to do something to them.
Oh yay…this again. Lets get naked (for the game char lol…even one piece of gear will kill easy) and find a crap weapon and get resurrection sickness on purpose.
There’s a toy that you can buy from the toy vendor that lets you critically wound any low level enemy, so you can do those quests without nuking your target.
I don’t doubt that you’re right. It’s just been so long since I last did it that I’m more than a little fuzzy on the details.
Gnome engineering is in IF, goblin in ratchet.
Goblin Engineering is learned in BC content. Netherstorm might be the spot.
Edit - someone else said Ratchet and that might be right too. I can’t remember. But yeah, Goblin engineering’s an old thing.
