Gnomish/Gob engi

I know you can learn one, the drop and relearn the other. I looked up guides and some said that I haev to relearn engineering entirely to switch? Was wondering if anyone can share their experience/ process or could link a more useful guide. Thanks

Yes, you have to drop engineering entirely and start over to switch.

Really?

I thought that book in Tanaris would help?

Soothsaying for Dummies?

Why would anyone ever choose anything other than Gnomish?

Damn, I definitely don’t have the means to drop engi entirely. I should go gnome then?

You still have to drop engineering entirely before that book works to delete your specialization.

That is up to you. Both specializations have some nice items. It’s very hard to choose between to two for me. Eventually what seals the deal for me is whether you want a Winterspring teleporter, or a Tanaris teleporter.

I remember the goblin engineer in Tanaris saying, “Goblin Engineering is KNOW HOW, BABY!” The cockiness won me over.

On a more practical note, spouse went gnome engineering and we make the mounts/pets the other can’t and trade. The rest of the time, I get heckled by the gnome engineers in guild chat. All good fun.

I tend to like goblin for the explosives, and you can buy the gnomish engi crafts.

I’m not sure if there is anything you can’t buy from each outside of the teleporters, but there may be more.

Learn Gnome, make all you want to keep, drop, learn Goblin. Yes, requires releveling to 300.

  1. Go to Wowhead dot com, make sure you on the classic version.
  2. Along the top, go to DATABASE > Professions & Skills > Engineering.
this will take you to the main engineering page.
  3. Look for the “Guides”
“Classic WoW Engineering Profession Guide & Leveling 1-300”
and click on it and it will take you to the leveling guide.
  4. Scroll down the recipe list to make bit by bit to use the least amount of mats.
Will also mention what to make and save for future crafts.

I have been using these for all profession I have been leveling and the seem pretty good.

Also in the GUIDE, you can read up on all other aspects of Engineering…even how to swap.

Basically you need to “learn” / switch to Goblin via a book by the Soothsayer on the east coast in Tanaris.

The only things you can’t come from gnomish i.e. death ray and battle chicken
