Was curious if the old Mind control an enemy player into their own instance portal to afk them out was still a thing and if you could get banned for it in today’s gaming? No one talks about it is why was incredibly used against premades on both retail vanilla and censored. Feel free to leave a reply if anyone knows. Thanks

I don’t think this was ever a thing? There’s no portal in WSG to do this with, and in AB I don’t recall one either (not sure). Even so, you’d have to basically camp the portal area and hope for people to come in your “range”
It certainly was a thing. There is a portal in WSG, it’s right next to the GY. You could mind control or fear someone right out it and they would leave the BG and get a deserter debuff.

Yep, and it’s close enough to the GY that you can sit there and hide until a solo person rezes and then grab them and throw them out.
Not sure if it works in Classic but it did in Vanilla.

It was used for two ways, one against premades to counter taboo with taboo, or for trolling. Which guess both kinda are to a degree
What you do is you mc them very near the portal
Then fear/deathcoiil, lol
even a poly can work if u get em close enough

Happend to our premade a few weeks ago. 3 horde at the portal including efc they managed to make one of our guys go in with a mc from a priest.

And to be fair it mighta won them the game had it worked i had the flag he did it as I went up to GY. Certainly would have forestalled their loss
