Gnomish Engineering quest not appearing?

I leveled up my cataclysm engineering all the way to 75 and yet the gnome npc that gives the quest in Ironforge doesn’t offer it? I’m trying to complete the gnomish specialization so that I can be able to use the gnomish gravity well toy.

Don’t tell me I have to level up classic engineering as well…

It appears I have to level it up. Well in that case, does anyone know an engineering power-leveling guide. I’d appreciate any suggestions!

You have to get Vanilla Engineering to around 200 for the quest to activate. The engineering specializations were in Vanilla and most of the recipes were in that expansion as well.
