Gnomeregan Issues

So now that we are at the 3 day lockouts for Gnomeregan, it would be nice to see some of the following issues inside of the raid looked at and addressed. Most of these are QoL style fixes that would significantly smooth out the experience and fix some of the annoying bugs/problems.

Menagerie - The council fight of Gnomer feels a bit overtuned for the difficulty of the overall instance. Just about everything in this fight is tuned to 11 right now. It’s not impossible of course to complete. But it does feel like maybe things are tweaked a tad high. Would be nice to see this looked at a bit. It’s hard to pinpoint down one particular issue. The bosses all high relatively hard, and the aoe buffs they provide to each other are a bit high on range too. Maybe reduce the range of the buffs slightly. Just a little breathing room would go a long way.

Final Boss Spawn - As soon as the Menagerie is killed the boss drops right on top of the raid and the fight immediately starts after one of the longest, most grueling, and most healing intensive fights we have seen so far. You basically have to use group loot here or you just pull and wipe. Either the boss should spawn later to give people time to loot, or you should have to actually trigger the boss through some mechanic such as a button or manually attacking him.

Stuck in Combat after Last Boss - This I think is an issue related to the bomb spawners, but after you kill the final gnomer boss the raid remains stuck in combat for around 1-2 full minutes. I’m not sure what exactly is the cause here, but it interferes with drinking, vendoring, resurrecting dead players, and addons.

EDIT:

Crowd Pummeler - BUG Crowd Pummeler can sometimes bug out and always follow his primary target while charging his knockback, making it completely unavoidable and leading to deaths you cannot prevent.

Menagerie is super easy, there’s not a lot of mechanics.

1 interrupt every now and then
A breath that you can dodge easily
The slowest boss of all time (sheep)
A squirrel that is barely trying to accomplish anything.

You just press buttons and it’s dead.

For the rest of this post, I agree.

It is fine that you feel that way. I disagree.

The only way you can wipe is if your tank dies. They do hit hard. The entire fight there’s 0 raid damage (if you do the fight the correct way). You get a generous 20 seconds once the first one dies to kill the others and even if you fail, they get like 6k hp back.

I am not saying that it is “impossible to do” I clear it every week. What I said was that it is overtuned in comparison to the other fights, the previous raid, and the current tier of content overall.

So you’re arguing a point I did not make right now.

I mean, BFD was a raid you could do in greens with your eyes closed in 30 minutes.

I’m glad the bosses are harder now. The difficulty feels just right. In our guild, we are all 40+, I think our oldest is 63. We cleared everything week 1.

It still took us a few wipes on last boss, but we managed to get it. Our kill was 14 minutes long. We are old, we took our sweet time.

Menagerie is fine as is I feel.
I do agree with the boss spawn. It’s really damn dumb for it to just instapull the way it tends to do. You can prevent it by killing the menagerie near the door but it feels so odd when they already have a fix for it. Just make it activate with a small RP, just like grubbis.

“Boss” Menagerie is the only actual difficulty. That’s what the main issue is. It is an outlier. And it seems more correct to retune for the relative difficulty a single boss slightly down than every other boss slightly up.

Hence my suggestion that the aoe buffs feel a bit wide range, and that overall incoming damage seems a tad high when some tanks can’t get free crit immunity from runes.

Oh, additional update:

Bug today on Crowd Pummeler, he followed his primary target while charging his punch making it impossible to dodge midway through the fight. Lost two people to unavoidable knockback.

Of course the damage is high, we are 2 weeks in, your tank is probably not fully geared.

We use a paladin on squirrel and chicken and yes, he’s taking a lot of damage.

But strangely, he likes it. The paladins, they have weird kinks.

I am a paladin tank. I disagree with you. Again you keep arguing points I am not making so let’s just agree to disagree and move on because you are arguing in circles.

5th boss is a joke. They dont need to touch that at all.

Everything else agree with.

Stop you know youre 4/6

Exactly my point. And there is absolutely 0 damage other than your 2 tanks.

Yeah but i cant DW tank it for the PARSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

And that doesn’t mean the fight can’t be overtuned? Again you are just talking PAST me. Not to me.

Menagerie is not overtuned lol. Please don’t turn one of the only fun, yet not stressful fights into another bfd boss.

I feel that it is. You are entitled to your opinion.

I also think Menagerie is fine as it is. My melee heavy group that was mostly a pug with quite a few fresh 40s, including the Rogue / Warr tanks, was able to 9 man it when one of the RDPS disconnected right after pull.
