On twitter Aggrend told us gnomeregan is 10 man.
This is sad as 10 man is just bad for the game. 10 man raids have to be insanely easy so that if you have a few bad players you can still clear the raid.
People are less open to bringing in meme classes when you only have 10 slots.
Loot is more likely to be wasted because you may only have 1 hunter or 1 warlock who already has the item.
Between this and the devs completely fumbling the WSG situation for a month now, I’m doubtful for SoDs long term success.

Dont take bad players. This is the exact reason 40 mans are awful, all the potatoes think they can slide into the raid and get carried for free loot. Get good or dont get gear

Not saying I doubt you but link a tweet please. Trust but verify.

They don’t balance raid difficulty assuming you have 10 good players. Otherwise baddies wouldnt clear
Also Aggrend is a lunatic if he thinks anyone wants to wait a week for Gnomer. Waiting until Feb 8 is bad enough. I want to get in there as soon as is possible with this wait time.

Week delay would be great.

Its a reasonable time to go from 25 to 40.
I know i will likely not be 40 by week 1. But maybe toward the end of week 2 when the raid is actually open.

I’m not a huge fan of the 10-man, 3-day lockout, and I think it aims to create a culture that’s going to be destroyed, or at least affected by culture shock if weekly, 40-man raids ever become the norm.
So, while I wouldn’t say that 10 man is “just bad for the game,” I’d say 10-man raid sizes, in combination with 3-day lockouts aim to cultivate a very different culture from what we would normally expect in WoW Classic.

They should delay it by a long attunement quest or server wide turn in event like AQ instead of a specific time.

Man i really hope they dont delay.
A huge part of the fun in the race is actually the min maxing of the leveling because the raids are so easy they are just cleared in like 30 mins in greens.
Part of the most epic part of Vanilla classic for me was the first MC clear, where apes had ppl at like 58 and stuff, and even then, the raid wasn’t that difficult but that epic leveling was an exciting part of the race to me.
I don’t particularly see a single good reason to delay the raid by a while 7 days, specially not a raid that will be an easy 10 man on 3 day lockout.
There is quite literally no rush unless you want to compete for world first which you likely wouldn’t stand a chance against guilds like NoTA, Onslaught etc
Maybe delay the very first lockout only lke 3 days imo

No one ever called UBRS a raid. Why are we de-grandizing the term?
- Yes I know it was originally 15man in early vanilla and then changed to 10man.
- Yes I know you actually need to convert the party into a raid if you want to go with more than 5 ppl.
- Yes it used to be in the LFD tool but was removed. I do not see it in the LFR tool. (Going by google search/wowhead/wowwiki, I don’t play retail to actually check)
Do I get the same feeling of teamwork, guild community, and effort put into preparation for BFD as compared to MC, BWL, ZG, AQ, and NAX? I do not.
Let’s keep making Vanilla WoW casual again and see if it turns out different than it did the first time.

That’s why we’re here dot jpg
10 man is fine for leveling raids. Much easier to get a group and just go.
40 man raids do have a place though although I 100% supported the drop to 25 and then 20 that came later.

100%. Just did a BFD and the raid leader refused to even take 30 seconds to organize parties so melee got battleshout etc. didn’t bother avoiding stacks on last boss.
When content is THAT easy it’s like “why even bother logging in?”
I get a better sense of those. That this is an actual team, not just a loosely affiliated herd of cats.

Meanwhile, the LFG ads consist of “LFM BFD, must know fights, must have good gear, must have boon, must have all consumes”

Absolutely nothing wrong with these requirements. It is very easy to go watch a quick youtube walk-through guide on the boss fights while you eat lunch, there is zero excuse to not have boon/WBs with the chronoboon existing. “good gear” is a subjective term but if it means having atleast pre bis, that isnt an issue. Consumables are cheap, go buy or farm them, show up, clear the raid.

In the context of the person I was replying to, it’s a little silly.
RL demands all of these things, but can’t be bothered to stack the teams to maximize output.
