Can we get a scenario or questline in the game to retake Gnomeregan already please, like the retaking of Gilneas? I get that Gnomes are a silly joke race to many people, but a lot of people also like them and would enjoy seeing more Gnome content. The last big thing we really got for Gnomes was BfA Mechagon if I remember correctly. Plus, it would be cool to cleanse the radiation and maybe cure some of the Leper Gnomes still trapped down there.
With player housing coming, this location would be a nice place for players to potentially choose for their home area (not sure how exactly the housing will be implemented in the world though).
EDIT: I just read in the wow wiki that apparently Gnomes live in Mechagon City alongside the Mechagnomes. Not sure I really love the idea of abandoning Gnomeregan, but maybe it has to do with the radiation being long lasting? Which I mean, itâs a fantasy game, they could magic it away or invent a machine to cleanse the city Iâm sure.
Back in Wrath there was an event titled, âOperation: Gnomereganâ. It was a short event where you were to retake the city and get a few rewards for doing so.
And they still didnât. It was just a prelude to the dungeon.
Iâm not super crazy about gnomes but the amount theyâre ignored lore wise rivals taurens, and thatâs an outright shame.

I agree. I really love the Tauren too. After Cairne died, itâs pretty much just been nothing besides that Baine questline in Dragonflight. I guess Highmountain Tauren in Legion as well.
I really donât. I like the Gnomes existing on the Eastern Kingdoms. I also donât like how the Night Elves are moved to the Dragon Isles right now either. Just my opinion.
Heck, even goblins had more airtime. Blackfuse Co. working with Garrosh, miscellaneous quests where theyâre involved, the Gob SquadâŚ
Goblins have had a good amount of airtime without ever being the focus. I was surprised to hear Undermined was coming, though, a whole goblin themed patch.
I just think from Vanilla weâve had Gnomeregan dungeon in our faces for so long, and thereâs even been strides to retake the city, there comes a point where we just should already.
I donât like the idea of up and abandoning homelands just because a shiny new location exists now. Doesnât feel like what real people would ever do.
if I could vote this thread 1000 times I would. Iâve been waiting a decade and a half to finally take back no more gone and turned it into an actual hub city with a flight path a banker and an auction house.
Theyâve retaken the areas around Gnomergan that are safe for living in. The actual dungeon area is supposed to be unlivable due to radiation. Itâs basically WoW Chernobyl.
Iâve always wanted to see Gnomeregan as a city. I think the auction house could be in that room where the 4th Matrix terminal is. Flight master could be in the hangar of course. Hmm what else? Maybe some tram system to get around.
