Gnome technologist, best spec?

Hey all! I’m interested in creating a pure tech themed gnome as my first character to get to 120 but had a question about which spec to use. I’ll be using engineering and guns of course, but should I spec as a marksman or beastmaster?

Does beastmaster have just one active pet at a time or can they have their 2nd, 3rd, etc pets fight all at once? A little army of mechs would be neat to have.

Or would marksman be better? Not sure if all marksman skills can be used with guns or if some need bows. For a gnome technologist theme which spec is a better fit roleplay wise? Thanks!

Probably Survival for the added “tech” abilities. Traps, Harpoon, and more ingenuity in the style. Beastmaster for the multiple mechs tho.

So BMs can have multiple pets fighting on the field at once? I know they get a stable and up to four or five “on call”, but they can have those latter ones all summoned simultaneously?

Frankly, all 3 specs are actually tech-themed.
BM’s Stampeded used to have a bunch of pets spawn at the same time, but was patched to be weaker and just a bunch of animals running in a forward path. The closest for pets is in Dire Beasts with Dire Stable glyphs, which turns the Dires into your pets.
Marksmanship is about being a sniper and shooting different shots.
Survival is using different gadgets and traps, plus a connection between your pet and you.

For utilizing engineering and firearms would marksman be the best choice? Survival is awesome but I cant use guns with it :slightly_frowning_face:

tbh, Marks is literally just for guns, but I think that Survival would be best for engineering, using bombs and gadgets to impair the enemy or something like that.
