How can they backstab if they can’t even reach high enough to stab someone’s back? Doesn’t even make sense.
You are trying to create a scientifically valid argument in a Universe in which walking-talking-rotting corpses due to Necromancy is common.
That’s my answer.
Why is it called invisible if I can see it?
They’re just stabbing from the back, not in the “back”.
I guess it could be called calf-stab, thigh-stab, butt-stab
Actually, if you think of it this way: The Gnomes of World of Warcraft, are more akin to Advanced Dungeons & Dragons’ “Halflings”. A Halfling’s favored class is the Thief, or in World of Warcraft, known as a “Rogue”. So, in not so many words, YES! Gnomes Rogues DO make a TON of sense!
This isn’t D&D though, this is WoW. And it doesn’t make sense.
This next bit affects you far more.
Why can we fall the distance we can, without breaking every single bone in our body?
With the right poison, a small scratch can be fatal. And they can hide in places other races can’t too. They’re only about half the height of humans, so still tall enough to poke important things.
Gnomes make excellent rogues. You should ask Kelsey about her knife collections! I’m sure she’d love to stab…I mean show you.
I was getting ready to answer, but yours is better
Games like this exist because of Tolkien and D&D
My graven raven, you are a walking, talking, rigor Mortis corpse who is somehow immune to drowning, but neither poison or diseases. It makes less sense that somehow you can lift a massive sword without your limbs falling off, then a Gnome Rogue sneaking around shanking ankles.
You, my delectable delight, are thinking too much.

They jump and stab you…they get some serious air and hang time…like at least 2 ft
There is a long list of things that don’t make sense in wow today. I’d put this near the top.
A rogue is nimble. You may not see it in gameplay, but they are trained to jump up and stab lore wise?
