Gnome or Mechagnome Mage?

Which one should I possibly go with? I like the visuals for both, so I guess it’s more down to the racials?

Just playing. I’d pick regular Gnome out of those two options. I don’t like either but I dislike them less.

well i’m struggling cause both the racials seem decent. regular gnomes having a bigger mana pool, while mechagnomes get a stacking damage buff as well as a self-heal

Will your gnome be arcane? If fire or frost, no need to worry about the mana pool. Plus mages get blink which clears roots so the escape artist racial isn’t very important. Probably mechagnome if the racials are important, good luck on your gnome!

That’s actually a good question… Probably fire? Cause it seems kinda fun having a gnome cast massive destruction fireballs and setting enemies on fire

Mechagnome. Mage mirror images + mechagnome dummy racial = lots of you

Mechagnome, of those two because:

  1. That self heal is automatic, and that can really help a mage stuck with a hard cast
  2. They are all crafting tools and stations, so you can craft anywhere
  3. Mana pools don’t have the impact they did in the past, just like Spirit is gone
  4. The make illusion Mechagnomes can help distract mobs.

I went mechagnome. I liked the name i picked out, Tink, and i actually like the visuals of the mechanical hands casting spells. :slight_smile:

I did leave her head unaugmented cause i wanted her to appear as if she just had her arms and legs replaced. :slight_smile:

In general I would say standard gnome. But mechagnome with their mirror image racial plus the usual mirror image, that does sound like a laugh. And actually, if you’re going to play any mechagnome a caster is a good choice, because robes cover their leg situation.

Heh. My normal Gnome Hunter is named Torque (cause she’s my engineer) and i named my Mechagnome Warrior Genesys, which is a different take on Genesis but also i thought could be fun if its an abbreviation of "Gene"tic "Sys"tems

Hey that’s like my DK, Genocis! Human though, not gnome.

Gnome names can be really fun. I got the name Mechanic for a mechagnome warrior. Although I haven’t leveled him yet and started using him for a bank alt. But I was stoked to get that name. My mechagnome hunter is called Megablast. And then my gnome warrior is just called He. I was writing something else but paused at this point and couldn’t believe that it was available. So I had to take it. He of Gnomeregan!

I actually don’t mind how the mechagnomes look. Its just the transmogging is hard on them cause, mechanical arms and legs. My warrior and mage i went with don’t have facial augments, and i just gave them the plating on the arms and legs so they looked protected. I already have some transmog ideas in mind for my mage, and my warrior i already know what i’m gonna use (sword and shield from Operation: Mechagon)

Mechagnomes have lock pick pinkies, combat analysis buffs, and emergency heal. They also have horrible transmog options. But they are also a cooking fire and profession tools.

Mechagnome. Better racials, start at lvl 10 and a good robe will hide their objectionable diaperbutt.
