In the Azure Span we have the gnolls dabbling or even mastering Decay under Decatriarch Wratheye.
Is this possibly a big future threat such as Death and Void? Have the Gnolls been promoted from a “beast race” subplot in a zone? Hopefully they pop up again and are more than just cannon fodder.
They have also started attacking Silithus in the Past alongside Azmourne’s Scourge(at least I think it may Azmourne as where else would Tichondrius find Kel’Thuzad after we Perma-Killed him in Torghast?) under Tichondrius’s orders during the Codex of Chromie Questline.
As for what Tichondrius is looking for inside Silithus… Probably another Beledar to mess with and infect with Death…
This would actually be an interesting take on Druids… Hmmm maybe as an elite spec? Because if they do add this I think they would need to change the VFX drastically but not so drastic that would also basically cross a special spec territory… or even Warlock Affliction Spec… then again Affliction has move more to being a Master of all Shadow Magics no matter where it comes, from what I guess or I suspect it comes from the Fel Version of the Void that the Legion uses and the flaming green with purple we see when it manifest in the Warlock’s Shadow base abilities.
They did took out nature damage from the Soul Rot after all and I think it was intended to keep loyal to the Spec and Class identity. (IMO)
I think it still be neat and Blizz could use just alter Kul Tiran wood skeletal forms or even use models from the gnolls for their beast from or even some forms of the shadowlands zones… (IMO)
Seriously there’s already undead models of every Druid animal, and we got the little mushroom dudes to serve as their tree form. Just pull the trigger.
Kul Tiran druids sort of fit into that bridge between nature and death. So I can see Blizzard just expanding that or twisting it to justify undead druids.
Man I wished we got more Drust stuff in either BFA or Shadowlands.
Even used the world editor to make a playable gnoll faction back in my younger days! It was…a mess, their workers were worms called “gnoll larva” but like i love gnolls is my point.
