so i put in a ticket on my hunter for the quest taming the beast not working .
i stated that when i try to use the taming rod it says i have to many pets and the response i get back from GM joshask is to make sure i use the taming rod . this is a infuriating and insulting response.

part of the reason we sub fee we pay is for the customer support that comes with it these guys need to focus on doing the job their supposed too instead of copy/pasting responses and hitting resolved to fill a metric.

While that sucks, did you ever figure it out? It’s been a whle since I’ve done a hunter but I think I’ve ran into this before. If this is about the quest chain at level 10 to learn pet taming, I think you have to dismiss the first one you tamed (in the first part of the quest) before you can tame the second. You can right-click on the portrait and click dismiss… maybe?

Honestly it’s been a while. If there’s any more experienced hunters out there and what I said is nonsense, please correct me!

I did the quests on a hunter on Deviate Delight last night without issue. I wonder what may be causing issues for some and not others, and how to reproduce.

did you happen to be on a tauren there were others in the zone having same issue im wondering if its race related.

The ticket replies are automated, you are not interacting with a human. It’s just a canned response.

Having started a hunter recently, I took a close look at what people, who were having a problem, were saying. They were saying all the right things, so I would consider it a bug.

According to other, newer posts, in game tickets acknowledged a bug, but said that this morning’s hotfix/patch applied a fix for this issue.

I have to wonder if the rod is one bugged from yesterday’s patch. Perhaps dropping the quest, which will remove the older/bugged rod, then picking the quest back up, will fix the issue some people are still experiencing.

Also, I can tell you from experience, if you have a warlock on the Tome of Cabal quest. If you picked up the quest on one patch, then they drop a newer patch; before you go all the way to the cave in Thousand Needles, you may want to drop that quest and pick it up again. You don’t want to travel across Azeroth to find the chest isn’t clickable. That is a real ******.

It was on a troll hunter, and quest given through the Razor Hill hunter trainer.
