Glyphs in Dragonflight?

I feel with the revamp in professions we should receive a lot of glyphs. I think (I mean think Bc I have no proof but seems like a safe assumption :joy:) that we will be seeing a lot of Evoker glyphs since there are 0 in the game currently. But what about the rest of the classes? Some classes like monk an Paladin (imo) are heavily lacking in glyphs and would love to see a butt load of new ones added. I feel we need a legion size of new glyphs.

Am I the only one who cares about glyphs? I really really want tons of new ones and to truly feel glyphs makes my spells feel different

You are not alone. I find the glyph cosmetic system to be ridiculously underutilized in this game.

Do you mean how they used to work? When glyphs would actually change the way a spell works? I could see them doing that again, but it’s been so many years since we’ve had that.

I didn’t know glyphs used to work different but I want 10 options for one spell basically :joy:. My best example would be efflorescence the Druid heal spell, and what’s in the middle. I want to be able to have a million customization options so I can feel my character is really customized. Why can’t I have a purple flower in the middle? A little bush? A rose? Idk I’m just making stuff up.

Side note, Druid has the most glyphs for any class (I’m pretty sure at least), so I would rather see other classes get glyphs before Druid but this was my best example for more glyph customization (also this would allow scribes to make a ton of gold and I’m not against that :smirk:)

Rock on! I support this cause.

Expanding glyphs would be cool. Wouldn’t even hate having LK-style glyphs even though they were cookie-cutter!

These days glyphs are for decoration no player power or whatever.

I don’t feel I need power from glyphs, bc that sounds like they would be necessary. I just want to have the option to make my character feel more customized and special by picking between several options for certain abilities (if that makes sense)

Glyphs could singlehandedly make an expansion that much more amazing.

Probably because they have 4 specs. And thats fine. Glyphs shouldn’t necessarily have a class quota.

As far as more. shrug

I dont care either way, personally. But it seems like (in theory) should be an easier thing to do.

I don’t ask for much. Even just changing the color of spells would be welcome. Use the removed animations or NPC exclusive graphics that already exist for the system. Just something.

I mean yes. This is probably a good portion of the ā€œissueā€, but I feel like 80% of Druid glyphs are just changing your different forms :joy:. I mean there is a chameleon glyph for each form. So even with druids having so many, it dosen’t feel like many since most of their glyphs are just changing their form looks

Theres one for each form, yes. They have 10 total. Shaman, have 8. Mages have 13 (with 6 ones exclusive to water ele). Paladins have 10 as well.

Really the outlier to me, is something like Rogues. They only have 4. And Warlocks have around 16.

Had no idea rogue had so few. I feel hunters are lacking too. Mostly because the hunter ones I think effect abilities they don’t have anymore? I want to say many are for dire bests and I don’t think hunter have that unless talented into? Idk haven’t played my hunter in awhile

The mage one is shocking. Had no idea there were THAT many water ele ones…which is stupid bc I swear to god 2% of frosts mages still use their water ele :joy:

Here is a good list I found.

Hunters have 9 total. With 8 of them basically situated around Dire Beast, Harpoon, Flare. And then one for call pet (making it slightly smaller).

So yeah, they can definitely use some variety there.

Like…the fact that Shadow priests doesn’t have access to the shadowy barrier that enemies used in the Stormwind Horrific Vision is baffling to me.

There are assets literally sitting there waiting to be used.

Or the fact that there are zero Drust magic glyphs for any class.

Or the fact that Druids don’t have access to ā€˜Nightmare’ versions of their spells.

I could go on.

I am sooo excited for priests tho (ok I’m over exaggerating I’m mildly happy :joy:) but if you’re a holy priest and talent into (god I forgot the name) the longer cd of mindbender (I always talent into mindbender so I’ve forgotten the name of the 3 min long cd pet). But using glyph of the light spawn will look so cool and make so much sense.

Not a huge thing but a cool glyph that would make so much sense for holy

it would also be nice if we could get existing glyphs fixed. some gylphs wont work on certain specs that now share talents, for example, glyph of thunderstrike cannot be used on arms despite all 3 specs having thunder clap now

For an expansion about a whole profession overhaul, Blizzard did a ****ty job with glyphs. Nothing new, at all.

It would have been an easy win.
