I am thrilled with the change in focus expressed with dragonflight’s announcement, excited for the talent trees, and cautiously hopeful for the future.
I do feel though, that there hasn’t been enough talk about one aspect of Borrowed Power’s legacy. Glyphs were effectively removed in Legion. The player power that once was occupied by glyphs was absorbed into artifacts. If the game is moving forward with a focus on a time without Borrowed Power, its time for the power to return to where it came from. Inscryption hasn’t had much of a role since then, and would benefit from a return to its old role.
I believe glyphs should make a comeback.
well they did say professions are getting a reword we might see a comeback on glyphs.
Yeah inscription needs love. Give each class a cool inscription like talent and item each expansion and keep integrating tradeskills.
engineers need some love to i want to move from a meme/me professions
to a useful one
bring back charges to open lock boxes
Mechagnome and rogues do that
Problem solved
ok then why the blacksmith has Laestrite Skeleton Key
As a boatload of new cosmetic stuff, yes. As power, no.
Cause it’s a gimmick
You’re not a blacksmith to make keys for a living, you make money crafting legendaries
I don’t think cosmetics will be enough to bring it back to relevance. Most of the cosmetic glyphs you buy once and use from then on, and they don’t give Inscryption a role to play in the market for crafted gear or consumables the way having glyph loadouts to swap did.
Sure it will. Inscription was super relevant in Mists when we had a ton of cosmetic glyphs. Just make scrolls useful again.
I don’t know anyone that wants conduits back in another form.
I can understand the comparison to conduits to an extent, but considering the difference in acquisition and lack of an item level to upgrade, I don’t think it’s entirely fair, you know? And if we bring back scrolls as a consumable inscryption provides, that leaves it as basically an alchemy clone. Though I do think there’s some merit to say, scrolls replacing augment runes. I don’t think leaving it as just that will keep up with the other professions getting new coats of paint in dragonflight.
Considering they’ll lock those behind raids and PvP and other outrageous things, while making them cost a boatload of mats… that’ll just lead to the requirement of them and the price being like legendaries are now.
I do believe that Inscription needs help. I don’t believe glyphs as a power improvement should be the answer.
Bring back old Dalaran brilliance buff. ty
