I love my night elven Druid, though I really dislike that he uses sun-based magic as a moon-worshiper. It really takes me out of my immersion.
As such, I’d like to propose a glyph which ONLY changes the color and names of Balance Druid abilities to align them with the moon. This glyph could be called, the “Glyph of the Moon.”
The “Glyph of the Moon” would change the following abilities’ graphics into:
Sunfire -> Ravaging Insect Swarm (works exactly like Sunfire, but has Insect Swarm graphic)
Solar Wrath -> Wrath (Classic green graphic)
Solar Beam -> Lunar Beam (has white/blue/purple graphic instead of yellow)
By changing the graphics of these three Druid abilities, my night elven druid would feel much more like the moon-worshiping entity that he is.
Conversely, there could also be a “Glyph of the Sun” which changes the moon-based abilities into sun-based ones for the Tauren players that want to focus on just worshiping the sun.
Moonfire -> Insect Swarm (works exactly like Moonfire, but has Insect Swarm graphic)
Lunar Strike -> Solar Strike (gets a golden/yellow tint)
Fury of Elune -> Fury of An’she (golden/yellow/orange tint)
New Moon -> Sun’s Might (golden/yellow/orange tint + sun replaces moon)
There is already a glyph which changes Starfall into Sunfall (yellow suns hit target area).

Sure. I’d really like more glyphs in general!

I’d like to see a solar alternative to glyph of the stars for a solar variant of astral form(moonkin)…
As well as a more neutral version for those of us who hate the moonkin form but don’t want to be all glowy or blue tinted ghosts…

Yes! That would also be excellent for those sun-worshipers out there!
More glyphs that change how our abilities look would be amazing. Imagine being able to turn into a “Son of Cenarius” or a “Dryad” instead of Moonkin… or being able to choose to “bond” with an animal and take its shape instead of the standard druid forms. Perhaps my Troll Druid wants to have a cobra form instead of a tiger form, you know?
Or, perhaps my Dark Iron Shaman wants to turn into a one-headed corehound instead of a ghost wolf, etc.
More flavor is good for the game.

TBH I’d use it on my Night Elf still just because the yellow glow doesn’t clash with her transmog… I used to use the glitchy interaction of blessing of an’she with glyph of the stars in legion to get this effect…
It should be noticed that plants and trees would never grow without sunlight, so I don’t think the presence of sun spells should take away your immersion. You are a Druid. Your stuff is nature. Nature requires sunlight to thrive.
If you want a character that is purely a moon-worshiper, I would recommend rolling a Night Elf Priestess instead.
It would be weird for both glyphs to give you different versions of Insect Swarm. Then the same spell would function differently depending on glyph.
I love this idea so much. I miss green Wrath.
This doesn’t work out too well with Night Elf Priests using the golden Holy Light spell effects.

That’s moonlight!
Remember: Elune created Xe’ra, and Xe’ra was golden

That doesn’t sound quite right…
Balance isn’t just the moon, the sun is the other part of it. There has to be more than one side, or it won’t be balanced.

You make a great point, Somand; however, in the end I do not think that Insect Swarm behaving differently, based on the glyph, would matter for two reasons:
- In PvE, it doesn’t matter at all since the only person this effects is the Druid player, himself/herself.
- In PvP, it also doesn’t matter because it would just be perceived as yet another DoT. Some DoTs hit multiple people (like the DK ones), whereas others hit 1 person.
BUT, if it ends up being a problem, the Sunfire version of Insect Swarm could be renamed to “Ravaging Insect Swarm,” to denote that it hits multiple targets.
Oh, and I forgot: Solar Beam -> Lunar Beam (white/blue/purple light)
I’ll add these changes to the original post. Thank you!
For a very long time, Balance Druids used NO sun magic; and since that is when I bonded with my night elven druid, him ‘now’ using sun magic ruins my immersion, especially since I know that night elves’ culture is based around moon worship.

Would be cool to also get a solar version of Glyph of Stars. They could use the Blessing of An’she variant of the old Blessing of the Ancients talent for it.

Yes, or a glyph that turns you into a “Son/Daughter of Cenarius.”
I’ve always wanted to be able to turn into them instead of a Moonkin.

i would give up the glyph of stars to play as this form
Yes! There’s even an NPC Dryad who’s a Balance Druid.

Would rather have glyphs that can give us more skin options for all forms. Just have them as random drops or quest drops or chest drops. Would be really cool to be a wolf in cat form or a lion or a dinosaur. Now you could say “why not just make a zandalari?” Why not them race bound and just have them unlocked for all races? I would love to have a Triceratops as a tank form.

I wish they’d give us an ability for Druids called: “Animal Bond” or something… where you can target an animal while in feral form, and your feral form will then BECOME that animal!!
Instead of a bear, your Guardian form could be a pig, or… a scorpion… or… a walrus!

I support this, and I’d also like to see 2 Glyphs for Shadow Priest and Druid.
Glyph of Concealed Darkness: Hides Shadowform completely so we can enjoy our mogs.
Glyph of Hidden Moon: Hides Moonkin so Druids can do the same and enjoy caster form.

Yes! More customization options for ALL spells would make you feel more in control of your character and more immersed.
