Glyph of Combative Shadows

You automatically assume Shadowform when entering combat, and exit Shadowform upon leaving combat.

Yes?

You know, only recently did I realize that you are unable to use Devouring Plague without being in Shadowform.

Because I basically have always been in shadowform but I happened to die and got a battle rez and while I was busy dealing with the encounter, I put off going into shadow form until I tried to use Devouring Plague but it wouldn’t let me and I thought I was glitched for a bit until I eventually figured out I was not in shadowform lol.

I find that silly because for the most part of the games history you can use all your shadow spells outside of shadowform and so it never occurred to me that you now have to be in shadowform to use at least 1 shadow spell.

I think that is a very odd design choice to be honest lol.

But to the point of the post…

I choose to be a shadow priest initially because shadowform looked so cool. It also blocked all the clown low res gear you were wearing prior to transmog. I like the Priest fantasy but the early years of priest tier gear looked awful and so it was such a relief to always have shadowform hide my gear through the cool shadowy figure that you get from being in shadowform.

So I would HATE to be forced to not be in shadowform outside of combat.

My biggest gripe with shadowform is the fact that we don’t have access to the original shadowform.

I absolutely detest an despise all the other shadowform visual changes they made since Legion… again, more reasons for the absolute gutting that Legion did to shadow.

I can’t believe that now after nearly 10 years since, we still don’t have a glyph for OG shadowform?

That alone tells you blizzard have put no effort into Priest when we can’t get OG shadowform back yet you can clearly have it back on classic servers… so it still exists in the game files, just port it over to retail as a glyph ffs lol.

I strongly vote for this. I created a shadow priest for remix and hate the fact that it hides your character. Even that glyph that supposedly dims it doesn’t really show much. If anything they should make a glyph for what you just said if not simply a choice for a more reduced shadow effect like maybe a dark halo or glowing black eyes.

They’re asking for a glyph so it wouldn’t affect you unless you bought and equipped the glyph.
I do think if you leave shadow form you should automatically enter shadow form when engaging in battle.
Maybe there could be a slide bar for how much you want shadow form to present itself.
I upgraded my computer and can use a higher visual setting now, before full shadow form was all these purple bubbles floating around and leaving trails everywhere I went. I hated it.

Oh you wouldn’t be forced, it would be a glyph. Sort of like Worgen’s Tame the Wolf or Dracthyr’s Chosen Identity abilities.

I mean we could go a step further and just give all shadow priests a toggle to turn auto-shadowform on/off

So I knew that Druids could change the look of their forms via the barber shop.

But I just discovered that Warlocks can do the same with their demons in both color and graphical look.

That really makes me sad that Priests don’t also have that barber shop feature to change how Shadow Form looks. It should also be where we make our Shadowfiend look different.

So basically, I am saying we should go with the barber shop route, not glyph route.

I wish! They took that away! D: they’re just world drops now.

Honestly I’m fine with either. I just thought a glyph would be easier, but a barber shop option would be much more expandable
