So is there a way to turn off the death effect in classic there was in vanilla the reason im asking is the color of the death effect and just how it moves bothers my epilepsy.
I think the “Leatrix plus classic” addon has an option to disable screen glow, may be a console command for it too but don’t know what it is.
Try /console ffxDeath 0

I remember at 1 stage there was an interface option for it but it seems to be gone in both retail and vanilla

You should give
/console ffxglow 0
a try too. It removes the awful Fullscreen Bloom effect that Classic (and retail) has. Here’s an example of what it does:
