Gloomhound

My Warlock gloomhound stands next to me not doing damage. Can anyone advise as to what I can do?

Is it set to passive or agreesive.

when you cast gloomhound, do you have a hostile target?

No it’s not on passive. But thanks

How are you having it target mobs? are you using the pet bar or /petattack ?

Gloomhound is a guardian, doesn’t obey /petattack

Maybe try the warlock forum, if you haven’t already?

You need to have your fel guard out and be attacking your target or all of your minions will randomly not attack. Welcome to the circus that is demo lock.

If your pet is on Passive, or the initial target has died, the Gloomhound won’t attack.
An easy workaround is to have an attack Macro for you pet (I have mine tied to Shadow Bolt). That way, you’re Gloomhound will attack your pet’s target.

Ok…let me ask something, by “doing nothing” would that be for lets say…a 2s interval?

If so, they aren’t actually doing nothing, it’s just that Vilefiend/Charhound/Gloomhound when summoned have this 2s long cast-time dot on the target.

Here is a clip.

Now, if they are RLY not doing anything.

  • Are you in combat with something?
  • Is this target within range? not floating outside of some zone for exemple or more than 40 yards of distance.
  • Do you have Defensive or Passive Stance?
  • Have you tried using a /petattack does it helps?

As a Demo-lock you should always use the assist stance, both defensive and passive stance won’t cause pets to be agressive when you attack the enemy, only agressive when you are attacked/not agressive at all.
