Glavier Class

I think it would be interesting to have a mainly polearm class that can work as a glavier. The only class that can use spears are survival, monk, and druid. The only one that actually specializes with spears is survival.

A class that specializes in polearms would make use of a pretty underutilized weapon type.

i think that would make more sense as a spec than a class.

I’m thinking of something like glavier from Lost Ark. I bet it’s got potential

Isn’t that just an arms warrior using a pole arm?

Warrior, Survival, and Monk have this covered pretty well I think.

Lots of classes can use polearms. People just tend to not transmog to them because most races have terrible polearm animations since they use the same animations as staves.

I think the only ones who have a half-way decent polearm / staff animation are female N.Elves / Nightborne, and Pandaren. The male Forsaken is especially bad.

Weapon =/= Class

?

Male Draenei, they actively flip the gun/polearm.

Would be pretty cool if Prot Pally/Warrior had a passive that allowed them to equip/transmog a polearm as a 1h along with some new animations. Lance + Shield is an archetype that I’d love to see in WoW.

Eh, Draenei animations are okay. I think their casting animations are better than their melee ones.

One of the class ideas blizz put in the recent survey was a celestial lancer. A lot of the other ones were probably more interesting, but it’s at least got potential as an idea.

Plus the reason I said Survival Hunter, Monk, and Druid is because most of the polearms that have been coming out are agility, save for one from Aberrus.

It’s not that difficult to come up with something creative with this gameplay style. Druid doesn’t even use it as a polearm, Monk is mainly fists, and Survival is just a spec.

Bring on the hoplites.

The pointed stick was one of the first one-handed weapons, and one of the most successful.
