just do the exact same thing, i understand people claim wanted unprune, adding more skills, but adding more buttons to press just for it is not fun at all. now the skill bar is full of … having an Aoe around you in 2 buttons is not fun really, visual of the glaives spining around is cool do, but i was expecting something passive, like
Chaos strike give you a % for next attack
Your consumed soul also provide your next …
Reduce attack speed enemies around you for x% would be cool for pvp
but having to press immolation aura or the glaives is the same stuff, one give you a little bit of resources, the other might hit a little bit more, i didn’t see that much to make it worthy and the first talent is not caped(or at least doens’t say it) and does more damage on the 4 sec dot.
I also enjoy passive play. I dont use addons at all so when a class gets to cumbersome it really drags down the entire gameplay experience dramatically. Enhance shamn is a perfect example atm. I spend more time staring at the action bar to see what lit up then looking at the actual opponent I am currently fighting.
100% false. Glaive Tempest supposedly doesn’t scale with Mastery at the moment and it still does more DPS than Trail - about 40% more to be exact for 5 less fury.
It’s the replacement for Blade Dance since it shouldn’t be on your bars anymore.
Still is. Blade Dance is a DPS loss on AoE and First Blood isn’t worth its spot right now. Taking Trail and using Blade Dance is a DPS loss compared to taking anything else on that row. And if you take Trail and FB, then you’re just gimping yourself since EB/Cycle are better right now.
Last time I ran sims on the beta (which was couple of weeks ago), Cycle and FB was fairly close in ST and FB came out ahead in multi-target situations.
Like with anything in beta, numbers are subject to change and I’m fairly certain that BD isn’t supposed to be useless in cleave situations.
The final slash of Blade Dance inflicts an additional (58.96% of Attack power) Chaos damage over 4 sec.
Blade Dance is capped at 5 targets. Trail is applied by Blade Dance’s last hit and is therefore capped at 5 targets.
Dummy testing. As a standalone talent, Trail did about 35-40% less than Glaive stand alone and about 15% more with Blade Dance, but Glaive Tempest is not scaling with Mastery despite doing Chaos damage; Trail is.
For me, at 38% mastery Trail is doing 10-15% more damage with Blade Dance only because Glaive Tempest is not benefiting from mastery. Blade Dance also costs 35 fury vs. Tempest’s 30 and has about half the CD, meaning you could cast Tempest + CS instead of two Blade Dances w/Trail. And again, Tempest isn’t scaling with Mastery right now, which is obviously a bug since it deals Chaos damage, meaning it won’t be out damaged by Trail + Dance once that gets fixed.
But you don’t use Blade Dance with EB because you won’t have First Blood, so it’s a DPS loss compared to just using Chaos Strike. And if it’s an AOE scenario, you’re still better off using CS and UBC/Tempest because EB doesn’t boost Trail’s damage, only BD, and BD isn’t worth the fury cost currently.
That’s why Tempest/UBC works better with EB/Cycle than BD+ Trail: to make Blade Dance not suck, you need First Blood and Trail, but EB/Cycle are better choices and you can then use UBC/Tempest and get better DPS than FB w/UBC/Tempest.
Right, but that’s entirely the problem. Blade Dance is currently useless and just mathematically subpar for any multi-target situation. It needs a its baseline damage boosted or a heavy fury reduction baseline because it’s just not worth the ability right now.
My understanding is that FB/Cycle/EB are all relatively close in a vacuum but FB is behind when you factor the other rows in since Cycle/EB are, last I checked, doing better with Demonic, but that was a while ago and like you said
