Gladiator's Maledict

After 131 total games and 78 wins in 2v2 Season 2 I finally got 2100, I have some major complaints.

Now before I start, I realize 2v2 isn’t balanced because the PvP of the game is balanced around 3v3 - and even then it’s hard to balance because of PvE existing at the same time. But given all of that, I could honestly care less about the cancerous comps and aids in 2v2 when something like Gladiator’s Maledict exists.

If you’re unfamiliar with what this trinket is, let me give you this:
For a 380 Gladiator’s Maledict, it deals 25,081 Shadow Damage, and absorbs 49,592 healing. Now keep in mind, i’m a 385 Survival Hunter, and when for example, a sin rogue simply sap/blinds my healer and mongo’s me with Vendetta and using the trinket, quite literally forcing me to use trinket or Exhilaration (and exhil doesn’t heal me, just ALMOST takes the heal absorb away fully.) So rest in peace 2 minute cooldowns simply because of a trinket existing, and yes. I’ve made their opener completely obsolete nearly every game with undispellable trap, but they still nearly kill me with ease simply because of this trinket existing. And to top that off, the healer can bring one too, so once the heal absorb is done from the DPS’s trinket, the healer can just WOOOP do the same thing, forcing me to further use cooldowns or make my healer use one. And through all of this, i’ve still managed to kill these idiots because they suck at the game and depend on a trinket to win.

I don’t even want to imagine how many S2 gladiators exist already because of this trinket. I’d be 100% okay if it was part of a class, and had some counterplay, but as of now it feels as if there’s no counterplay to this trinket and people get cooldowns just because of it existing.

Please remove this? Please? It makes every game feel terrible and wins have no sense of accomplishment because it just feels awful for this thing to even be usable in arena. Seriously, nerf my spec and nerf:

Fury (Remove thirst for battle, please - literally uncounterable mobility with 0 peels for healer)

Rant done, i’m sick of this dude, i’ve never been as toxic as I am in this current moment simply because of the current state of PvP. And before you guys are like “lol just get the trinket,” stop.

Do something Blizzard, i’ve been a fan of this game for 8+ years now and i’ve been defending you for the entirety of BfA, but this is SERIOUSLY unacceptable.

I still don’t understand why they don’t balance around 1v1 tbh. Literally translates into a more balanced game across the board. If you think otherwise your bulb’s a little dim.

your telling me you had to use your own personal cooldowns to survive their cooldowns? i just cant believe what im reading. this is OUTRAGEOUS Blizzard! you need to fix this broken game

He had to use his cooldowns just to survive use of a trinket that RNG determines whether you are blessed enough to receive now or in twelve weeks. FBM

Having to use bubble 10 seconds into the game just because lultrinket and then immediately afterward their partner goes lultrinketagain.

Last Season 1800 became the Rogue/Mage Wall where you knew you were in for a grind for a normal geared player with an under geared healer. This season we came out 8-0 first night feeling we would pick up where we left off on a good note and we did. Then we wait until the weekend and go 14 -14 and struggle to even get to 1600 based on every other game having loltrinket or 2. Even if both teams had 2 then it’s just a race who can hit their trinkets first. You can imagine how this will impact RBG’s 4 people target a healer or tank and go loltrinket dead. They need to do away with it, the possible fix could be instead of putting a heal absorb on the target it heals the user for the damage dealt.

Yeah I died to rogue/hpal with double trinket vandetta even though I pre-beared, had hots, frenzied and double skinned. I wasnt even stunned, I just died. They literally popped everything into bear and full defensives and got away with it.

14k damage and a dispellable healing absorb is enough to use your defensive cooldown? Interesting.

Damage is higher than that, and every dispel has a cooldown, last I checked.

Dispel has a CD and 14k damage when multiple people are attacking actually is meaningful. You can’t always dispel the effect. There’s more ways to secure it’s use than prevent it’s effectiveness.

Trinket is broken. Going to use it on some poor random BG Gnomes tonight. rip.

This trinket especially becomes a problem when a spec’s defenses are tied into self-healing, like as the OP mentioned with exhilaration, cauterize for fire mages, fury warriors, etc. Remove the stupid thing, it was a bad idea and we all know it.

If someone is around 60-80k hp at the time the trinket procs you’ll definitely need a defensive cooldown.

what if your defensive cooldown is a self heal?

They should have made an on-use shield trinket that you can use on team mates if they were gonna introduce this super dumb trinket.

Dispelling it is pretty awful and even worse when you’re against Spriest teams. When even healers are running at people with this trinket it’s obvious it’s just too good.
