Teamed up with a glad hunter alt (yes, shadowlands glad) at 1750 mmr in 3s played 4 games with him, went 1-3. Two of these games he called:
- melee as the kill target vs melee (forgot what it was)/sp/healer
- warrior as the kill target vs warr/ele/hpal
wtf??
I figured ya sure why not, he’s a glad xp player, im just sub-2k. But I still predicted that we would lose cuz we let these casters freecast. We won more games with the previous dps that was just 2k-ish exp.
Calling a target as a “kill target” doesn’t mean you’re gonna ignore the rest of the enemy team…

Well I know to always look out for swaps and not tunnel vision but isn’t it obvious to get on the SP or ele vs such comps?
I really don’t see what the problem here is, you don’t even know what the melee was and this is your number 1 problem?
Don’t even know what your comp was, melee could of been a Ret which is almost always a kill target
idk he probably thought than forcing a melee to constantly retreat would give you some advantage… or something like that. Not really sure if he was confident enough about his ranged interrupts and traps. Or probably just called the target that usually stand in the open.
Not necessarily. Shadow priests are gonna do damage whether you interrupt them or not and Ele is generally manageable as long as you consistently handle Stormkeeper correctly while stomping skyfury totems and being mindful of echoing shock.
Against a Warrir teams in particular, sometimes it’s good to go warrior since it robs them of the ability to assist a kill target via Intervene/duel/etc while keeping them in defensive stance.

wasn’t a ret or a rogue. def something tankier. idk man i played a bunch of games today i cant recall every single thing that happened.
Don’t expect you to, but if you post about it just some specifics isn’t too hard to ask for?
Sometimes positioning factors more than the target’s innate durability. Or that person’s/target’s playstyle if you’ve ran into them before, your comp etc etc
Just weird to me to think because you face a caster/melee/x the caster is 100% of the time your kill target is all.
Not like a well played SP is squishy either
he probably played a different comp and was going off of that xp.
For example all my XP is with RMP, and I would prolly try to call similar targets if i played RPS, but they could be completely wrong
thats the only thing I can think of. Or he was just yoloing and wanted to test and see if those targets would die

or he was lying cause he said XP. did he have the actual title?
I actually hate going war as a hunter bc they can mitigate so much of my all physical damage but like someone said you keep them in D stance and avoid the intervene you’re stopping a lot of dmg/a mini sac on a short cd
Well I generally agree with your target calls, there can be some value into going warrior, like they will have to sit Dstance and lose 20% damage. Or the silly warriors just sit battle 100% of the time and u just wreck them.
But having a lot of physical damage (running BM/amrs it seems), yes I would generally agree going caster would help to shut down damage and proabaly apply more pressure to the enemy team.
Just like look for good swaps on cds, like does the spirest have full hots + cen ward? probably not a bad idea to swap the warrior for a second until some of those hots fall off then swap back.

It can also be a lot easier to exploit melees positioning at lower mmrs and get ez kills
at 1750 the sl glad strat is to go lowest hp
