It was so much fun,why did they remove it
Because a talent that completely revamps the spec isnāt good design for several reasons:
A) Itās literally a dead talent for actual prot players. They could never take the talent because it wasnāt designed to be used for actual tanking. In actuality it was poorly designed for this.
B) Itās sloppy and lazy design that becomes hard to balance because itās just a damage mod talent. Balancing prot and Glad properly becomes an issue.
C) They should really just fulfill this class fantasy with an actual spec.
Actually for most content, Gladiatorās resolve was the best talent in the row. It gave Dstance an additional 5% passive DR.
As far as why it was removed, fun is subjective, it was a crap spec that couldnāt be made into a real dps spec without being either A; op or B; even worse than it was.
And it was garbage throughout all of WoD.
Guess I forgot about that part.
Blizzard has introduced multiple flavor talents that were intentionally designed to be inferior to fit a specific theme.
Either way, GLAD itās gone. Make its own spec or (more than likely) introduce a class for it. Problemo solved.
It was the best spec for the first I donāt know how many weeks but they nerfed the piss out of it and it became useless.
I can see them not wanting to have it be the top performing spec but the nerf was overkill.
I think they could of easily kept the balance below Arms and Fury as to never be optimal but still remain as a fun thing players could to to mess around.
The reason the game feels so soulless now is there is no room to just goof around and do pointless stuff for fun.
Would be nice if they introduced it as a 4th spec in the next expansion.
Fun detected.
It was bad.
Yeah, in an open world mmorpg thereās no room to go goof around with your friends, have fun doing your own thing and just creating your own way to have fun.
What does this even mean.
People have long advocated for flavor choices or otherwise known as mathematically inferior choices. IE: let gladiator spec exist and let it be inferior because itās fun to be a sword and board DPS.
IMO I just dont think those options make sense in an MMORPG where creating bad or misleading choices can confuse the playerbase greatly and impacts other players they group with. Classes and specs should have rails set up that point them in the direction of how the class is intended to be played. Itās also why I hated the idea of SMF and TG talents where it wasnāt abundantly clear what you should be doing unless you researched it.
I never try to harp on players for wanting to have fun at the expense of performance as long as they realize they wonāt go as far. Play arms if you want to even if it sucks. You wonāt go far into the game (like heroic or mythic raiding) if you approach the game like that, but maybe that doesnāt matter to you. But letās not clutter up the design of specs/classes with mathematically inferior flavor options that cause confusion and balancing woes.
Probably because they did not want to add the extra work to balance it along with the artifact weapon in Legion and expected us to get over it by the time bfa arrived
But look here we are still talking about
In a game where you can never cap on AP and can always get upgrades via titanforging your character will never be done so people donāt have āfree timeā ingame anymore. Nobody ever does pointless random things for the sole purpose of fun. Itās just World Quests, M+, or Raiding.
I spent two hours exploring Legion zones with my buddy. He was on his druid, flying me around. Because we flippin felt like it.
You can*
Which comes passively. Through m+, once a week in raid, and arenas. Iām no fan of the system, and actively advocate for itās limitation, but this is a piss poor way to blame a system of gear progression for saying āyou canāt goof around/do pointless stuff for funā.
Nothing and no one is stopping you. Youāre not blasting some high end content, thereās no need to worry about gear or neck level. This sounds like something Iād hear on a twitch stream, not from someone on the forums.
Mate, come off it.
Cap is currently 50.
There is a cap to titanforging as well. Mathematically unobtainable, but it still exits.
Sort of arbitrary points to be honest since the caps are so wild that they become extremely unrealistic to achieve.
Although to be fair most people are going to hit their own ācapā where they say good enough and anything that comes after that is gravy.
Are you referring the Forge cap or heart cap? Because the heart cap is very much within reach.
Both, but more forge than heart.
If this tier lasts ~6 months a good portion of the playerbase will likely find the cap as long as they donāt make any other changes. The highest AP level is currently 47 so Iām sure a good handful of top players will find the cap before us, probably in about a month or so. I average about 1 level a week, but YMMV.
For forge cap itās never been very realistic to be done with gear since you need max TF with a socket to be considered BiS, with a tert if you want to be technical.
Iām moving at the same pace you are and I plan to be 50 in 9 weeks with only minor effort.
I already acknowledged the mathematical hurdle of forging, but itās no cause for hyperbole and is consistent with ions pov. I put no effort into hearing outside azerite and have a much better time than most in game. Iād prefer to be able to combine drops or scrap them into parts.
That said, legato forging was glib, but the heart is still easily capped within a couple months.
