While its true prestigious things can be prestigious, the band of players who hit Gladiator is way out of wake with clearing the Mythic raid or hitting the M+ mount.
Part of what keeps PVP from growing, is its insanely hard to ever hit these rewards if you only play No voice LFG without being the exact meta, and you are SUPER unlikely to be able to hit rewards with IRL friends.
Getting to glad should not be a larger time investment for an individual then clearing the mythic raid. Average games played seems to be between 400 to 600 games to 2400, putting it at around 24-66 hours in arena, not even including LFG looking or que time.
Clearing the mythic raid becomes trivially easy over a long enough time period though. Getting to 2400 in threes usually requires more effort, not just time, than getting a world 3000 cutting edge
I think they should keep glad rewards and offer they same types of rewards but of lesser coolness for the people who canât hit glad. Mounts and more cosmetics as proven by plunderstorm should increase participation at the very least.
I disagree. You can hit ce without ever growing your skill outside of an extremely narrow area. My intended point is that you can pour infinite time into PvP and not improve enough to see a difference in the rewards you earn.
To go a step further, I donât think PvP is fundamentally capable of tying winning to time spent in the way that pve does. The closest alternative would be taking rewards that are currently functions of winning and changing them to only be functions of punching the clock.
This argument does not support you, instead it gives a good reason why people should avoid pvp if they are not in current range of rewards achieved. The logical conclusion is that those who donât reach the current goals would be better spent playing other games or doing other things. The end result of this is players should quit, which would drive down r1 and gladiator possibility broadly. That is a bad result.
They are, or have you not played plunderstorm? Easier in fact.
Your only important mistake in this post is calling it a bad thing. Anybody and everybody who queues arena grudgingly because they want the rewards is an addict who would personally be better off quitting and whom the game would be better off (long term) losing
That is fine if that is what you think should happen. However, anyone designing the game/systems should immediately identify that as a problem that needs to be reminded and should disregard opinions such as yours accordingly.
You say it would be better off in the long term, how?
You are mistaken if you believe OP is arguing in good faith, this is obviously just another thinly veiled âI pay my sub fee, I deserve the rewardsâ post. OP doesnât care about PvP participation. In fact, they want rewards easier to obtain so that they can quit participating sooner
the health of the game will benefit from increasing the percentage of its population that plays because they enjoy the gameplay. every change the game has received in attempt to increase its appeal to people that quit as soon as theyâve gotten the mount/mog/enchant has made the actual gameplay worse because the players being catered to donât actually want the game to be fun, they just want it to be easy.
i think heâs trying to and just doesnât know how, which is only a little bit better. but i think itâs valuable to reply publicly to this kind of thing even though the actual conversation has no point
theyâve already nerfed gladiator requirements down to 2400 +50 and have been adding fake inflation. If you canât get it now you donât deserve it.
Especially when any 1500 player can pick up ret war rn and get gladiator with the difficulty of doing a heroic dungeon run
It is, systems success are based off engagement. Arena engagement is very low relative to overall pvp.
You repeat this point a lot but it doesnât make sense. wow battleground numbers are healthy, those who pvp is a significantly larger portion of the player base then those who arena. PVP is broadly viewed as enjoyable, however arena specific aspects are low. Your claim that the game isnât " fun" is weird, people would stopping play wow broadly if that was the issue. Instead, end game systems are related to wows true end game, transmogs.
Iâm 2250 the same as your highest 2251. Good try.
