Does anyone think its worth trying to push gladiator for the mount? As a 2100 player who only has 4-5 hours a night to play each night? I am really trying hard to give myself a reason to push past 2100. I am consistently 2100 each season on my healers but I always stop wanting to try at 2100 because the games become so sweaty that it becomes unenjoyable for me.
Part of me still wants to try but idk I get so stressed out healing by the time i get 2100 that I just stop pvping all together for the season. What do you guys think? As for me I’ve been doing some thinking and I think the stress I feel comes from the fact that I could potentially lose ALL of my progress and be back to square one if I q into a bad lobby or just straight not play well one night. The idea of that just makes me scared to even Q. Idk its a weird thing for me because I’ve never had this happen to me in another game where I play a ranked mode. Like I said part of me really wants to try and get the mount for once but I just don’t want to lose all my progress trying and fail by the time the season ends then have to go into the next season knowing I failed and that I will never be able to try for the mount I like again.
So it being worth it is kinda up to you. If you want it go for it. But a way to get rid of the anxiety of tanking is to level an alt. That way you can just leap frog the two and play whichever is lower. Then you won’t have to fear tanking your higher character. It will make climbing take longer but is a bit less taxing on the mental. Also even if you fail this season if you want to get glad you shouldn’t just completely give up and never try to push again. You are still improving and getting better at the game, which will make it easier to accomplish the next time you try for it.
Sorry what…that’s so much time to play…
An easy solution is to make alts of the same class to practice. The real solution however is to not care about your ratings and just focussing on just improving.
Never push yourself to do anything unless it’s important. Getting gladiator, rank 1 etc are achievements but mean absolutely nothing in the real world. At the end of the day, play for fun. If you feel stressed out or not having fun and can’t change this, then it’s totally fine being a duelist. There is absolutely no shame in that, if anything you’re in the top 5% of the pvp ladder.
I’m lucky to get this much que time a week. Assuming you have regular teammates and aren’t spending most of your time going through the ups and downs of LFG… I’d say that’s more than enough time.
If it makes you stressed, I probably wouldn’t try. WoW is a game after all, and games are supposed to be fun. Feeling stressed isn’t fun.
Self doubt is pretty normal, man. I struggle with that myself. Most people do, I think.
As someone already mentioned, you could make an alt, or 2 and get extra games in. You definitely have the time .
The difference between 2100 and 2400 is absolutely massive. Pushing glad for the first time requires either talent or dedicated self improvement, not just practice.
You can do it but you need to record your gameplay and go over global for global what you are doing wrong. It would wouldn’t probably take about a year realistically under good circumstances.
It’s very fun and rewarding, just be aware most folks who get glad got it before.
The thing is I usually play by myself and don’t have regular teammates. I have beaten glad teams many times on the way to 2100 so I know I have the capability. It’s just the fear of losing my progress I think that’s stopping me the most. PvP is very fun for me but not when the stakes are so high. People tell me to ignore the rating but I just can’t because I don’t want to lose the progress I made because one night I happen to play bad or my teammate does. It just makes me so stressed. But I really really want a glad mount at least once but I just can’t seem to bring myself to try.
All depends on what your goals are!
I personally think this mount is REALLY bad, but I get glad every season because I enjoy the collection aspect!
This is more than enough time, but make sure you’re using the time well.
I got my first gladiator in about 2-3 months of Qing an hour or two a day, three days a week, with some guildies after raid. That being said, this was with zero pvp xp and a LOT of raiding XP.
It sounds like, if this is the case, then pushing for glad may personally be more work than reward for you - but I encourage you to make your own decision on this one!
That’s super normal!
It helps to have friends that you enjoy playing with so it feels less like work and you can be happy at the end of the day win or lose.
This is very well worded and you did a great job voicing it. This right here is why 99% of players don’t get gladiator. They’re afraid to try and fail, so they don’t try alltogether.
At the end of the day, you almost certainly have the time and skillset to get it, but it will take some work! If you ever have any questions or want any help, don’t be a stranger and feel free to reach out!
Just play thunder/any bm comp, or rogue/lock and you’ll get it kekw
this comment is always so lame
it’s a defensive way of saying “the people atp are somewhat noticably better than what i’m comfortable with and my improvement has plateaued”
Okay, I agree 100%, but at least this guy is being honest about it.
It’s not like he got to 2370, had one bad session, and then “quit” because it was “too time consuming and was tired” and then played 200 more rounds of shuffle to tank 300 cr and finish with a negative w/l after making a forum post about making an alt to leapfrog to R1.
That would be, like, insanely embarassing.
I mean I’m all for improving but even still do you like getting steamrolled every game then losing all the progress you made? That’s what’s stressful to me is the fact I could lose a ton of rating and be back to square 1. Also since I play alone I have to pug and that’s a challenge in itself because at that rating most people leave a pug after a single loss.
If you don’t try you will never get there. Sure you will lose and tank sometimes, but who cares. Just go again and you’ll eventually get to where you want to be.
Don’t lfg for the purpose of gaining points. Use it for the purpose of finding teammates. Try to find consistent teammates you can play with and improve with. That way even if you lose points it’ll still be productive.
Its up to you. If you have people to play with, you should. it is fun.
That being said, even with 1-2hr a night, glad is possible before the end of the season.
It all depends on how much you like the glad mount. With that amount of time you can invest on farming other mounts that might look better than the glad mount to you.
To me, theres no reason to push past 2100. No way im going to invest that amount of time farming a cloak, tabard and mount when I can use that time to get keystone master mount, farm current raid mogs, do limited time season content like zekvir ?? mount and on the last season do heroic raid for ahead of curve limited time mount.
That’s 3 cloaks, 3 tabards and 3 limited time mounts vs 12 sets, 7 limited time mounts and much less stress.
Again, this is for me. If you realy want the glad mount, go for it. If the issue is losing the rating, you will lose it anyway by the end of the season. But the rewards wont go away even if you lose it.
