I saw it yesterday. It wasn’t really good. It was a copy and paste of the original.
I’m not going to spoil that much, but I felt that it retconned Maximus’ character, added a feature that wasn’t shown in the original, and made the new main character have some connection to Maximus despite not being so evident in the first movie. This is a bad example of sequelitis.
I had a feeling it was going to be terrible.

Well if even I have heard nothing about it and didn’t know that it came out when I had been looking for there to be a sequel for a while…yea not good. And most everyone of those movies about the ancient Greek warriors never get them right, ever. The highest ranking soldiers in their legions had a thing of coloured horse hairs that went from side to side, red and blue were the main colours. The ones that go from front to back across the helm were for lower ranking soldiers.
All the movie industry is capable of putting out right now is sequels, prequels and Marvel movies with remake after remake in as well.
