did they just remove gladiator titles from the game? on wowhead theres a bunch of new titles awarded to those who achieve elite ranking in pvp (old glad rank) and now the titles are “the elite” so is gladiator still a title also?
Looks like you get at 2400 so I’m thinking they might raise gladiator to a higher CR?

It’s like how you can’t esrn the mount until contender. When you hit 2400 you gain the elite title and are the elite bracket and need 50 wins to get glad

Seems like they blanked out Gladiator and renamed it Elite. I don’t get how you can get a gladiator achievement in the elite range. It seemed like it was a new title, with 2 separate ranges.

Well seeing as the tooltip says “at the next rank earn title: gladiator title & tabard” but when you actually hit 2.4 you get nothing until you get 50 wins. I’d imagine it has something to do with rectifying that situation so you actually get something when you hit gladiator(elite tier?)
That’s what i’m thinking but I really hope it’s raising Gladiator requirement, but I do like this is possibly a reward between Gladiator/Duelist

Perhaps its “Elite” for hitting 2400, glad for 50 wins.
I hope they are making a middle ground between duelist and glad, but it might just be that they realized people calling themselves glad in 2s and rbgs is lame and are renaming it to elite

I hope to god they’re changing glad back to percentage base, it’s so lame now that it’s 2400 + 50 wins big joke.

It’s possible that they’re doing this in an effort to basically allow the title to be given to all the brackets, 2’s, 3’s, and 10’s. They knew people would be pissed about gladiator being given from those brackets, but having a new title for it would fix that issue.
Then they could restore the gladiator title to top .5% and restore some of it’s tarnished glory.

Yeah I think maybe they’re doing that. I mean I think we all realized that the difference between glad and r1 is huge with the new system, just like there was with diamond and challenger in league when their new system was introduced. Elite could be that placeholder where gladiator was, and then having gladiator still as that middle ground right before gladiator would be really solid I think.
We just needed something in between and maybe they didn’t want to have it sound weird with Gladiator, ________, then Rank 1 since the title inbetween wouldn’t progress naturally to rank 1 gladiator, so Elite, Gladiator, and Rank 1 Gladiator flow much more naturally imo.

100% agree, I do think there should be something between duelist and glad, I’ve said before that they should add a ground mount like something that’s not available to the game atm maybe armored warpstalker.
When they announced gladiator was 2.4 I was saying there should be something at 2.4 instead and bump Gladiator up higher. Instead they added Combatant, which is great, it helps people that are lower have goals to reach for. I just feel, and as does everyone else, that gladiator at 2.4 is way too low.
Had I been able to get it this season, I probably would have felt weird with it. It would have been great to get something I’ve always strived towards, but when people are almost 1000 rating higher than that title, it loses it’s weight.

Glad is confirmed back to % based.
Elite is now holding the place of 2400.
Tabard will be unlocked with 2400.
Mount is back to end of season with retaining title for the following season. Enjoy.
(Thank God I say… We can all just pretend this season never happened now…)

Where did you see it was confirmed back to percentage base? All I’ve seen is title/achievement name change they could just bump it up a few hundred rating.
Don’t see anything on twitter/wowhead/mmo-c about that. In fact, the only thing that changed on the PTR database is the gladiator achievement now says that you have to get 50 wins at Elite rating. Do you have a source?
