Quit wow a couple weeks back and my god am I ever happy I did. Imagine the crappy feeling you get after spending hundreds of hours progressing your character just to get slapped with massive nerf to locks only threatening ability . Not me, don’t have to deal with bullcrap like that anymore. Feel bad for the suckers paying blizz to ruin their fun.
You had something good and ruined it for what reason? Locks aren’t meta in M+, They are only #1 dps on like 3 fights in Nathria and they are laughed at in PvP. Instead of nerfing things that are good you should try buffing things that are bad. Smooth brain devs
yea warlocks seem FOTM because of how many parses are racked up under aff lock but if you look at the spread of people who perform well to those that didn’t the difference is massive. You can say it’s an easy rotation but go try and parse an orange in Mythic nathria. MR was a payout for being good now there is no point to play aff lock. Re roll BM hunter, cast well moving, #1 damage, #1 pick in M+.
This game Hot garbage

The problem is none of the DEVs play warlocks, so they don’t care to make it playable. They want the classes they play to be top DPS. If they gave a crap, you would see a fair consistent DPS rank across all classes. In addition, they made the DPS calculations so stupid by not just counting gear, but, you also have to count covenants, pots, oils, buffs, enchants, inscriptions…etc. into the calculations. There are so many combinations of crap to deal with to balance its absolutely insane. They need to stop adding garbage to try and make it “cool” and go back to base DPS’ing. It’s not even fun as a game anymore.
I would also throw out there, the the questing storyline is ridiculously dumb, doesn’t flow with the story, and is literally a waste of effort. At least BFA had you questing the story instead of questing to quest. You felt like you were working toward something so you wanted to finish the story. There is literally no story here, no direction, no continuity, no purpose.

This.
You can tell the devs main boomkins and mages.
I bet the Warlock nerfs happened after some dev got beaten by a lock on the meters and thought “wtf, thats not fair! I specifically made my class the best!”

I can’t see this possibly being true. There are classes that can absolutely destroy another by having better gear so even druids and mages can get melted by a good lock

Not after the nerf dumb dumb.
Someone doesn’t check wowhead.
You realise we are talking how warlocks will bein the next patch, not how they are now?
It’s more than the nerf anyway. Warlocks get fewer notes each patch I notice than everyone else. This has been true for many expansions with only Legion breaking the mold because we were garbage at first and then Aff needed to be nerfed and refined every patch since then. We get fewer tweaks, fewer bug fixes, fewer buffs for sure, fewer QoL changes. Just less sttention. And we have so many clunky antiquated mechanics with the devs announcing their return like we should be grateful.
The disconnect is unreal. Compare this to Fire Mages always having a useful version of Combustion, a spell which typefied the design philosophy Blizzard said it hated, but would bend over backwards to keep it cool while trying to nerf it. Or Convoke getting a buff.
It’s crazy how a class that summons demons, drinks their blood, communes with the shadowy void, and so on, is excluded by this Rule of Cool balancing.

It’s because blizz is trying to bury warlocks. Why?
They never had an initial clear vision for warlocks really.
And they want to remove all the good and everything xelnath ever touched. and because he was the main warlock dev back when… it means everything warlock must be slowly nuked from orbit.

As tinfoily as this sounds, it does feel like sometimes they just want to remove everything that made MOP Lock great. I still remember seeing a line somewhere about Xelnath complaining about people coming into his office grumbling about how they’d get 1 shot by a Warlock. Aside from that, really kicking myself for not having played Warlock or Pandaria back then. After seeing how Xelnath left the class it would’ve been amazing to play.
It’s unusual that none of them would play a lock, they’re pretty amazing thematically and have potential to be godly. They must have bad taste I guess.
It’s not even tinfoily. It’s just true.
Xelnath was good at his job and did wonders for Warlock.
But the spite at Blizz for him is just… irrational.

Mhm.
And thus we are in the state we are in now. All the good devs, all the fair devs. and all the passionate devs are gone.

next patch notes will be “since we see a massive decline on people playing warlocks we are going to delete the class, gg thank you for your 15$ per month”

Lol and lock remember you would get kick out even a normal dungeon… I seem to recall it was in MoP lol
I am quitting after my sub runs out next wek because my main is a Havoc DH and I also play a Demo Lock, both classes are over NERFED into uselessness. No one will want you in rated PVP or Raids, your only use is doing story mode and world quests which is complete BS. I wish I knew this before buying the expansion, no one wants to reroll just to experience the rest of the game, no one wants to reroll after putting your heart and soul into these toons then to have Blizz for no reason nerf your class while other classes one shot people and never are looked at. Blizz has really driven a loyal customer like me away with these decisions based off of stupidity. If Blizz does not send any hope our way of fixing these spec issues I will join the “I am done crowd”

Why are you on the forums then? Genuinely curious.

And I’ve yet to see someone say ‘OMG FF14 IS LIEK BETTER THAN WOW’ in this thread. They usually tandem with the ‘I QUIT WOW LOLOLOL’ people.
I am disappointed.

It’s just odd to want to post on game forums for a game you are glad you aren’t playing.
Also the malefic rapture nerfs have been reverted on the ptr, just FYI.
It’s odd that you care so much about what other people do in their free time
I agree. But is it as weird as caring that I care about what others care about?
I think not.
Well I’ve played been around wow since 2008. Though I don’t play I still enjoy watching content and keeping kind of up to date.
That is good to hear they reverted the nerfs! IMO they weren’t needed
