I guarantee they will use this opportunity to “prune” the classes more, making them even easier.

There will always come a time when classes need reworking and simplifying. They can’t just add more talent points forever. I’m quite sure that won’t be until after the last titan though.

There’s no way they don’t jump on this expansion release and gut everything.
They’ve already give some details on talents for midnight. They’re not pruning. We get three more points to spend on the class tree. Three more points and a fourth track in our hero tree. And four more points and an “apex” talent for our spec tree.
That they’ve said. It’s kind of just a given at this point. They didn’t say they were pruning disc priest, for example, but removed half of its buttons.
How will this work? Are they expanding hero trees further down / sideways? Or do we take points in another tree?
Four points in the existing trees, or are they adding new talents (which would mean reworks)?

Sideways. A fourth track. So another three nodes between the first and last.
Existing trees. The apex talent will be a 4 rank node that is meant to be a “natural conclusion to your spec tree.” I haven’t seen anywhere where they’ve given an example yet. Apparently it’s not mandatory to put your points into it, but it is encouraged.
So I assume one choice node, two passives, okay.
Maybe they won’t do full on reworks then, if you’re highly encouraged to put all 4 points into it.
But depending on the passives they add, they could remove things elsewhere, like how they removed time anomaly from mages.
How is more talent points eluding to a pruning?
Sounds like the exact opposite.
