I’m quite happy with my tail.
mandatory tails
I had a dream… in that dream I had a tail… it was soft and fluffy and I could hug it and squeeze it all day long… it was amazing… then I woke up and was reminded I live in a nightmare…
Free the tails!!! End this nightmare!!!
As of 2025, here are the options I wish to see introduced, or in many cases – returned, to Worgen customization.
I’ll also include some new ideas:
*Some ideas for more general model fixes and animation / QoL changes
The old models somehow looked a bit more ferocious and humanoid at the same time!
For references of the original intentions of the Worgen models (before they were mobbed out of existence by the forums!), search the myriad images and videos of the “Cata Alpha Worgen models”. They truly were ahead of their time!
I in-fact just went back Worgen the other week, and believe I’ve succeeded in making the Female looking as close as possible to that original version. The Male definitely looks quite better than it used to as well, but in my opinion has even more animation and scaling issues. Improvements overall? Yes, but there’s a lot of work left to be done, to fulfill the original vision and potential of the Worgen to appeal to more players with a wider array of customization options!
Mandatory Tails
Of your long list of things this one is the only one I’d be happy to see never happen, if they want to fight as a human they better roll a dang human as if you roll a werewolf then you’re fighting as a dang werewolf. I don’t care how it’s done in movies if you roll a worgen you’re fighting as a worgen, if human form is invovled at all it should be a worthless human costume form as it is now. At this point even if they do give us our tails if they also allow us to fight as human I’m quitting as the mere idea of that kinda option is beyond dumb. Second they make us able to fight as humans the trolls are going to do nothing but that…they’d roll worgen only to never be worgen. If you’re going to play a worgen being a wolf person is what you’re signing up for and no amount of “But humans don’t got druids” excuses can change my mind
Here we go again.
This, it’s the dumbest request ever.
“Abloobloobloo, wud if i dun wanna be worgn tho, wud if id muh lurrr”, then make a character that isn’t a worgen, simple as.
Fair enough! I was trying to go for a Dracthyr Evoker-like mechanic, but I realize how it can ruin the immersion. The main purpose of my list was indeed to invoke the long request for more customization options and the return of the original models in some capacity. That one I sneaked in there, not sure for what reason, actually I appreciate your feedback and mostly agree.

I’m sure some compromise could be found for roleplay-oriented mechanics. I suppose what I was trying to get with it was to play into “we can get humanoid forms that look more feral and stay in them a bit longer”. So, in essence, you wouldn’t really be a human anyway… But specifically, a Gilnean human affected by the Worgen curse, looking as if you are in the process of turning into a Worgen! Once again, being attacked would cancel it, meaning it would only preserve while casting the first spell, charging to a target, etc. Maybe a better idea in the middle is simply how Calm the Wolf is now, so entering combat would activate the Worgen form as it does now.
My ideal would be just to see Worgen looking more like the original which, as I said, I think looks somehow both more humanoid and more feral than the models we got both with the Cata release and the Shadowlands rehash. The emphasis of my post was choice. I therefore don’t see the point in the “mandatory tails”, as it would not only require a lore retcon, but might also not be as popular (and could end up being a long-term mistake dividing the Worgen fanbase, as the various model changes did). I’m always for more options, customization, and personalization in an MMORPG.

a werewolf who can change freely. genn is out of his wereform more than not. how come the crap dragons are able to fight (base class) as their ‘human’ form’, but worgens who are real humans…can’t? they are cursed but they’re still able to be human. why is it when they fight it’s forced? lmao it makes no sense. more customization and options are better, worgen players will still exist in their worg form sometimes people wanna be a human lol.

Wild.
what is making you cursed to not suddenly being able to hold a weapon as a human but as a dog? like fr, if thats the case, they should be acutal werewolves with their own abilities but you need to be a werewolf to…suddenly fire a gun. they ain’t cursed from being able to fight, they’re cursed by being able to become a werewolf…make the rest make sense for me lol.

If you’ve gone through the starting zone and other content relating to the Curse of the Worgen, and sincerely think thus, then you are beyond my ability to help.
i mean it’ll be an option, something you don’t have to opt in… i know that choices are scary for some but nothing wrong with it. seeing a worgen player use a gun as a human won’t hurt you, i promise lol. but since this about tails, that comes first (unless you wanna tell me there a lore reason for that too lmao)

There is no lore reason against tails.
Every single time anybody brings that up they fail to provide any evidence beyond one instance specifically involving Genn, and inevitably either slink back to silence or proffer some base, trite insinuations about the character or intelligence of others.
i haven’t insulted you or anyone at all. you seem upset over an option and crapping on me over it. it’s not that deep lol.

It’s not upset, just bafflement.
Because you already have the option to play as a human in combat.
By playing a human.
Worgen want tails,
Orc want druids,
Tauren want Gnomes to be puntable.
Assault?
