Give Worgen Tails (Part 1)

And yes proper sizes I used to use growth pots to be proper size I just gave up on those because I don’t want to have to rely on them Worgen should be Kul tiran size not smaller than them even with the hunch.

Exactly Worgen lore was confirmed by the devs that both males and females should be 8 feet tall. But for some reason they are only 6’ 10" ingame. However sadly the Elixar of Giant Growth make Worgen a bit too big as it makes them close to 8’ 5". The seeds from Ardenweild make us closer to the correct size. We should be about the same size as the Sylvar.

I see a suspicious lack of options for tails, I guess that means #TailsPlz #KThx

Still no (optional) tails for worgen? How dreadful.

We have the technology.

One day it will be a great optional choice.

Especially if it’s done right: Having multiple lenght and thickness options would be great.

Darkflight should make it so your movement speed cannot be dropped below 100% for the duration

I just want Darkflight turned into a leap/grappling hook like ability. We see worgen jumping around all over the place in the starter zone. Always thought it was odd we ended up with a sprint rather than a leap.

Though yeah I agree if its gonna remain a sprint it should ignore movement impairment. Make it a lot more useful overall.

Worgen tail options aren’t showing up for some reason.

Blizzard, please fix

You do realize that adding that would mean re-rigging the model
so the tail functions. That would mean updating the other models to
when Blizzard already did that. Just be content with what you got already.

Don’t troll this post please. The tail rig is already in the model all they have to do is attach it to a tail model. It is something we are asking to be optional so it wouldn’t take much effort to attach it to a check box like the orcs upright choice.

Also be content with what we got? So 12 eye colors and 7 fur colors and we should be content with that? Unlike the huge amount of options Goblins got we Worgen didn’t get much so we ask for stuff because we care about the race we play. We are not going to be content until we get more options for our core look.

They’ve done this already with several races that use the worgen model… So clearly not much of an issue.

Have a nice day.

Here is the Worgen model with the bones attached to it:

See the set of 4 bones in the middle of the butt? That is where the tail can be attached with little to no effort. That already exists and is animated. So its all good.

This is it animated. As you can see the tail bones are animated to swing with the movement of the walk. All they have to do is attach a tail model to the bones and boom! Optional tail ready to go.

So no Worgen will not be content with what we have till Blizzard shows us some love and gives us an optional tail.

Straight would be great. I have never liked that perma hunch. I also agree with Worgan tails. If they can give Dracthyr those beautiful long tails, they can give the Puppies some nice lupine ones. Although maybe the Dracthyr isn’t the best example as they will use Visage on mounts…

Eh, but look at the Vulpera then. Big fluffy tail, just wraps around them on a mount.

Also fun fact, speaking of rigging the tails and adding in the animations, Blizzard showed that they can actually add in new animations no problem without anyone even noticing. Just recently a friend of mines discovered they added even more monk animations to the worgen model that weren’t there previously, only animation left is rising sun kick and worgens are set and ready to get monks as well as early as 10.0.

Adding in new animations is clearly not a problem, especially since worgens already have the tail skeleton to begin with.

Eh, just do what EQ2 and GW2 do with their long tailed races. Have it tuck under the cape, or wrap around them when they sit/mount.

I like the Worgan as they are, don’t get me wrong. They’re actually one of the races I am considering changing to when 9.2.5 hits (least til they let Dracthyr be Mages), but I do think they would look better with a tail. Make it optional for the people who prefer the model as it is now, even.

Wrapped around would definitely be a good idea. Something Draeneis could use since I often see their tails clipping through the back of the saddles. Vulperas got the tail animations right.

Making the tail completely optional is definitely the goal. Much like how pandarens can turn their tail on and off, we want the same for worgens, so if you already have your existing worgen, you won’t suddenly log in and be forced to have a tail, you go to a barber shop, spend the gold and get your tail, that easy!

Iksar used to be the same way in EQ2. When the game launched, their tail just clipped right through the mount. They eventually changed it to a proper animation where it just wrapped around them. It was SOO much better.

And yeh, choices are always the best. Additions are great, but it would feel awful if you were that person who loved the Worgan as they were, and all of a sudden had your character model changed. Choice mean people can choose what they like, and everyone is happy.

More options are always better. The only thing that shouldn’t be optional cause Blizzard never adds it to any race is the size. Worgen should be the lore correct 8 foot size. Come on Blizzard when we have shoulder pads that clip into our breasts cause they are too big you know how bad that looks? Just make Worgen the right size and you can keep the Tauren sized shoulders. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Im not going to post every shoulder but look at this. It not only clips into my breasts but also into my ears:
