Even if Blizzard gives us a post it will be hard to trust what they say. We Worgen mains have had since Cataclysm to be continually ignored by Blizzard and we don’t expect much to change but till Worgen customization is on par with other races I will never stop posting my wishes:
8 foot lore correct size.
Optional tail.
More customization for our core look.
i want the stripes that are available on some fur colors to be available on all fur colors. and i want to be able to change stripe color independent of fur. tattoos. i want tattoos. or war paint.
I would be fine with just the tails for now.
Asking for all the other things such as size change, ear position, posture, fur color… is honestly unreasonable. Blizzard won’t do it for at least several years (until a “new round of customization” for every race occurs). Sadly, it’s still too early for them to review worgen again.
Maybe on this “future new round” they also give us a variety of hair flowers for tauren too!
And being able to give my worgen a voice similar to Celestine’s
They are different levels of reasonable. The size I think won’t ever happen. Blizzard I think is pretty set with they are where they are. Posture is actually just the standing animation and some other more trivial animations, like parts of /dance, but I think the chances are low just because of the stubbornness of Blizzard artists/animators.
Ears and particularly fur color are something else entirely. Ears have no animations to complicate them, like the bounce most long eared races have, so they can be rapidly modeled and implemented. Fur color is even less effort. If you understood the amount of effort JUST editing the colors on an already existing skin is, you would probably be enraged at how few options some races have. An intern with minimal skill and experience could pump out 5 per day. It is not an exaggeration to say they are just being lazy and wasteful with resources with how many options are currently available. 20-30 per race is not an unreasonable number.
The only reason I say the size change is Lore says the size is 8 feet. Female Worgen shoulders and helms are based off Female Tauren gear who once again are 8 feet which is why Worgen shoulders look so insanely large for the model. The biggest thing that people QQ about on Worgen requests are the “Lore” changes so that why I say 8 foot tall Worgen wouldnt be a bad thing.
You say that but didn’t they literally just change worgen size to fix some of the animations like hunter disengage? kind of shows they could change it at the snap of a finger if they really wanted.
Oh definitely. I just don’t expect them to decide worgen are too short. The change wouldn’t be a heck of a lot as it is, and might not have even been noticed immediately when they updated the models, but they didn’t do it then. As it is the males are pretty close when standing erect.
Would be for the females as they should be 8 feet tall already. Worgen were taller when they were first released but then in Legion they were brought in line with the 6’ 10" Alliance tall race which also made the shoulders look even worse. The shoulders are made for female Tauren you can see it in the position and scale and honestly it really hurts xmogs to have shoulders so big they impale our characters.
The biggest argument is that tails are against lore… Worgen being 6’ 10" is also against lore. Even though tails aren’t ever mention in the lore. Making them optional is honestly just the best way to do it.
A improvement to our racial abilities like dark flight, and especially our passive, viciousness.
As it stands right now, we have the absolutely weakest racials. Heck, Pandaren literally get double the stats we do because of their well fed buff giving them a food buff. Where we only get a 1% crit increase, pandaren can get a 2% on any talent or main stat they want.
Once upon a time worgens used to have a 70% movement speed, which made their racial actually good for quick movement. Now it’s a small 40% movement, something literally every class can do now these days, but better.
While Shadow and Nature damage is decent… seriously, when was the last time we came across anything that did shadow/nature damage in terms of pve content. xD
Worgens are in need of a huge overhaul for racials.
Literally every core race has gotten a rework, yes goblins too, the race that released the exact same time as us. When are worgens getting theirs?
Viciousness is fine. Many races have a flat 1% buff and its power will really depend on your stat priority. It’s funny that you compared it to panda racial though, as 1% crit is 35 crit rating. Panda racial is either +30 in a secondary stat, or +20 primary. Unless crit is absolutely garbo for your class, viciousness is better than panda racial. Darkflight just needs to stack with other movement speed buffs and then it will be good, even at 40%. As for aberration, every other class with a resistance racial only has 1 resistance. So its literally twice as strong as every other resistance racial and its against 2 very common damage types.
I do have to disagree with you here Battlecruisr Worgen are the only core race who never got any love when every other core race in the game did. It would be nice to see a little love.
If we’re talking strictly racials, there are plenty of other races who haven’t gotten “love.” Most racial changes were to replace things like hit/expertise or to add a damage racial to races that didn’t have one. Worgen racials really aren’t bad to the point that a redesign is required. Darkflight is really the only thing that can be touched upon. Stacking with other movement speed buffs or reducing its cooldown to 90 seconds. But I’m not going to lose sleep if darkflight remains the same. It’s still an okay racial.
This is the problem. When it comes to this racial, it is really only good for warriors. It is the main reason every other class worgen can choose are at the bottom when it comes to good racial choice. Lower middle at best. The problem is how Blizzard balances crit and haste though, and not directly with the racial.
I’ve seen a lot of fixes. I think 40% is a tad slow. I like it for what it is though.
Check out what that 1% costs us versus other races and it stops looking so great. I disagree with Cow, lots of things use shadow. And I expect a lot of nature next expansion. But 1% is not enough to notice. It has more value for RP reasons than any game mechanic ones. It was respectable when it was resistance, but resistance and flat damage reduction just aren’t the same thing even if over the long haul they reduce the same amount of damage.
Worgen is middle at best. Some classes its lower middle, like mage/warlock, but in general its middle of the pack. Its an average racial, and there’s nothing wrong with that. There is zero class or spec that its bottom.
So always C or D tier as a race. That’s exactly Cow’s point.
I’d trade it in a heartbeat for 2% dodge and movement speed. I think you’re dishonest or a loon if you would not.
The problem is this is effectively a null racial because it is totally eclipsed by the slightest RNG. This sort of racial shouldn’t even be a thing. It is just a bandaid left over from when Blizzard decided to abandon resistances.
