Let’s also not forget that the pact form, the druid form that worgens originated from DID have a tail. You can very easily pass it off as “Yeah some worgens actually kept their tails when transforming in to the full on worgens we know today.”
You’re both wrong. It goes both ways.
There is conventional lore that werewolves do not have tails and it was considered a sign that the wolf was a morphed human if they lacked a tail. And there is lore that growing a tail was part of turning into a wolf just like the growing of hair and claws.
None of which matters because that is historical lore, not warcraft lore. In
a FANTASY game
we get to make up our own lore. We can pick and choose from conventional lore, or just make up our own.
High elves were not supposed to have purple eyes. But they looked cool, so now they can have purple eyes. High elves were supposed to have light skin, but that was exclusionary to people, so now they have a wider selection of hues. Alliance draeni are an annoying amalgamation of once separate and conflicting lores, but put together because otherwise they would have to be yawning potatoes.
Past lore does not matter for a game. Enjoyment of the game supersedes it every time.
High elves were not supposed to have purple eyes. But they looked cool, so now they can have purple eyes.
I’m never gonna live that one down lmao. A Blizzard dev literally tweeted that Blood Elves can now get purple eyes because it was a bug but because it looked cool they could keep it.
Hey @Blizzard. Worgens have a tail bone, in the process of tracking that down, maybe it would be a nice bonus to throw in a tail option for worgen players.
Thank you for reminding us about undead paladins.

A suggestion that works very well, as there’s already precedence, is to have a quest line where Goldrinn finally gives his blessing, and that takes the form of an optional tail.
This previously happens to Huln Highmountain where he is bestowed a blessing resulting in antlers.
this is also a FANTASY game
Exactly and what is right or wrong by realistic standards shouldn’t be that much of an aspect. Mythology about werewolves at times states that yes they got no tail while others state that yes they do. It’s a fantasy game and the curse is from the pack form which did have a tail so making the tail at least optional is not by any means a bad idea, it’s one that if anything would allow for us to choose how our worgen is as this is also an RP kinda game so our character’s story is our own creation so the reason why our worgen suddenly has a tail or not should be up to us the player but the option to have or not have it in game should be a thing.
Underworld and Twilight are both movies with Werewolves
Underworld did the werewolves right…Twilight is and shall always be seen as trash to me as they as far as I’m concerned did werewolves poorly. NOTHING anyone says can make me think otherwise
I am sorry that I pushed your furry button! Draenei tail is not too bad. I had it thinned. The fox tail is too bushy, distracting and ugly
…can you do me a favor and keep your rude comments to yourself? I don’t care you think vulpera tails are ugly I was asking if you’re seriously saying they don’t deserve tails at all despite the fact vulpera are fox people. Foxes got tails so why shouldn’t fox people?
Vulpera especially since Captain Eudora has a no tail option
Eudora I always saw as a special case…she has a tail bob which could mean she lost her actual tail earlier in life but it’s not a sign she has no tail…it’s just… very short. I mean if she had no tail why the tail hole in the coat then? Bobbed tails are still an option…looks painful but an option I guess…but no tail at all for fox people sounds painful
A quest to unlock the option would be nice as those who don’t want the option can just ignore the quest.
Also a lot of werewolf movies don’t have tails due to the cost of animation. That don’t mean werewolves don’t have tails. The Wolfman series didn’t have a tail true but they were just a fur covered human and when you look at when that movie came out they didnt have the technology to do something like a realistic looking wolf. Product of the times.
yeah sadly costs and budget cuts always seem to make them cut back on that sorta thing, didn’t the Van helsing movie where he became a werewolf have him sporting a tail? Been a while since I saw it but god…he was such a wicked looking werewolf that I can’t help rewatching that last fight scene when I’m able to. That movie did them right…god… idk about the vampire part but they did real well on that werewolf form he had for taking down Dracula
Worgen are based on Werewolves, who typically don’t have tails.
Actually, a lot of Werewolf lore has them with tails. I’d say around 60% of them do, 40% don’t. Options would be nice. :3
Even the Werewolves in Elden Rings, and Lost Ark have tails.
…can you do me a favor and keep your rude comments to yourself? I don’t care you think vulpera tails are ugly I was asking if you’re seriously saying they don’t deserve tails at all despite the fact vulpera are fox people. Nothing furry related to that…there has by no means ever been a breed of fox without a tail, taking tails from foxes is quite frankly animal cruelty as far as I’m aware and you were asking for fox people to lose their tails in a thread where those of us wanting the optional worgen tails to get optional worgen tails. So if you’re going to go so far as to accuse me of being a furry for being against foxes losing their tails then fine I guess I’m a furry and you’re rude and need to leave.
LMAO! You are unbelievably rude, not me! I never said that vulperas need to have their tails removed. All I said was that I deleted MY vulpera (not anyone’s) because the tail was distracting and ugly to me. It is my opinion, not yours. So what! You took it very personal and decided to start this rude tirade against me personally. With worgens, I prefer no tail look for the same reason. I did mention if blizz decides to introduce tail for worgens, make it AN OPTION. That is all! Players can do whatever they want to do with their toons, including deleting them. You need to check in with your behavior. Try to be mature. An apology would be nice, but I would not count on it. Have a nice evening, nevertheless.
#giveworgentails !!!
Just sent in my in-game suggestion that perhaps for the new expansion, they could add a couple tail options, along with some more modern mane/hairstyles, jewelry and flowers to decorate our worgen forms with.
They are a truly amazing race and the reason I started playing this game in the first place, they need more detail and customization!
Eudora I always saw as a special case…she has a tail bob which could mean she lost her actual tail earlier in life but it’s not a sign she has no tail…it’s just… very short
Isn’t she a pirate? They’re known for losing limbs.
exactly, I always figured she lost most her tail in a fight but the model still has her having a nub tail so it’s not gone just very short but the vast majority is gone
Yeah she’s no doubt had it rough, losing her tail however it happened had to be quite painful. It is still funny vulpera got that joke about how some of their kin fled to living on the sea and got labeled as quitters. Still It could be interesting if we later see some worgen whether they’re pirates or not sporting tails. Pirate life is rough but I’d also imagine life for worgens wishing for their own tail is also rough. Doesn’t have to be forced on people but an option but I can see what Cow’s saying about how the nub tail could be a vulpera option as…not all vulpera spent their lives in the sands of Vul’dun, some became pirates
We will see when Blizzard announces whats next as to if Worgen will get some love or not. Still hoping for the .5 patch love.
Here’s hoping, and hopefully they don’t sour the mood of worgen finally getting a tail option with a bad idea for an expansion.
Never underestimate Blizz’s ability to sour the mood.
yeah…for all we know they’ll do something really dumb. Like “Oh Zovaal’s attack on Azeroth made Gilneas sink to the bottom of the sea” then show a new map with Gilneas having been cut off of it as Blizz reveals they’re not fans of worgen thus why they refused to give them as much customization. Still…they got a chance to prove us wrong…they could do something amazing and give Gilneas back with some sort of facelift and worgen getting tails and all the love they can handle… then just idk… BSing the light forged draenei by making their stuff look ugly.
yeah…for all we know they’ll do something really dumb. Like “Oh Zovaal’s attack on Azeroth made Gilneas sink tot he bottom of the sea” then show a new map with Gilneas having been cut off of it …
DO NOT. GIVE BLIZZARD. IDEAS.
