That’s what we’re asking for! Much like the straight back orcs, boneless undeads, tail/tailess pandas, and bald option, you can choose to have it on or off.

He means as a setting for all races.
So if you select no tails no one has tails. Regardless of choice.

Honestly, race wide cosmetic options wouldn’t be a bad idea at all. You can easily rule it out as “druid magic”. OR “barber magic” seeing as the barber has all mighty powers to just alter peoples genders, completely reshape their body structure, and even go as far as blinding, and unblinding you if you feel like it.
At this point, any type of cosmetic option can happen thanks to how wacky the barbers are when it comes to giving you new cosmetics on the fly. If a worgen wants horns, give them horns, if a tauren wants to be tailess, yoink off that tail, or even better, if you wanna be a hybrid race, you can be a human draenei hybrid! Hybrids exists in the story, so why not let players go all out with the customization. You will still have your race identity, just you will have to choose a mix of worgen with something else if you picked worgen originally. Can’t be worgen and suddenly swap to full on draenei.

And for the people that understand Worgen with tails goes against the lore? Where would the option be to entirely disable seeing them while playing?

Nowhere does it state in the lore that Worgen are unable to have tails.
We know that Genn does not have one and that is fine, that doesn’t stop other Worgen from getting them tho.

What Blizzard said was referring to all Worgen. You claiming they were specifically targeting Genn is completely fabricated.

Well this really is just your own assumption.
Genn was always portrayed tailless so having that detail fixed in Golden’s novel makes sense, but you are going to have to show proof that it was all Worgen.
Adding them changes nothing in lore.

You do realize that Genn was the only worgen in that novel right? We did read the same book right? When Christine Golden said “we thought we’d docked all the tails”, that was obviously a play on words about catching all the mistakes in the novel. How can you dock all the tails on worgens when Genn is the only worgen in that book? As we all know, Genn himself isn’t portrayed with a tail.
When she goes on to say “no, worgen don’t have tails.”, that was her own statement, not Lorewalker.
And before you say “What Christine Golden says is fact to the lore.” Keep in mind she recently made this comment.

She’s given key parts of the story, key dialogue, pretty much given all the lore plot points for the story she has to work on, and from there it’s her job to connect the dots and write a story around those key plot points. She’s a writer, not a lore dev.
Also let’s not forget this other comment Ion said in a previous interview regarding customization options.

If a customization happens like purple eye’d blood elves who were added in because “it looked cool in the beta” due to a bug at the time, or adding in a tail. There’s a possibility it will just be added in without any explanation and everyone is just going to pretend it’s been there all this time.

The “blue response” is no new customisation for anyone for all of shadowlands.
Which won’t stop people requesting this feature for when they end up continuing customisation options. Even as much as a blue post casually suggesting that tails for Worgen are on the radar for the next expansion would at least keep some people interested in WoW since Shadowlands isn’t getting more customisation.

Blizzard cannot fail, by giving Worgen the option for tails.
It is never to late, to let them stand straight.
How it would please the eyes, to see them their true eight foot size.
If you want to give us something we lack, how about fur of a solid true black.
Then if you would be a dear, please consider tops of the head ears
We thank you for our human customizations, trully we do.
Still we would really love to have options for our Worgen side too.

One day we will see optional tails, a lore correct size and other requested options. One day. We waited 10 years for a good model. Now we just wait for Blizzard to finish the job they started.
