It bothers me as well; this was a great opportunity to push this into the gilneans culture but instead it is shamed… like why…?
Our strength is in our curse.
Tess should have put Genn in his place.
We shouldn’t be holding onto our humanity because of the curse.
We should hold onto it in spite of the curse. We are stronger as Goldrinn’s cursed children.
Give worgen tails
Maybe a few unscrupulous worgen will put a few drops of blood in the baby formula.
Based on what they did for ears with that idea, please no! XDD
But they could also fix those cactus ears and actually make them look scruffy… adding a couple of triangles on 3D program was pretty bad.
Actually based on the fact there are worgen souls that you see in worgen form. I think that combined with the fact that when worgen die, they don’t revert and leave a worgen skeleton.
I think that curse rewrites a lot more than just becoming fluffy. There is precedent for worgen pups, or natural born worgen if you will.
Edit: Also give me my damn tail already.
Blizzard has stated that the curse does not pass to their children.
There are no pups.
Blizzard has also changed their lore, or even break their own lore, when it suits them.
I take anything Blizzard states lore-wise with a grain of salt at best.
Sure, but until they actually say otherwise the lore is what it is.
At current, no pups.
I’d like to see this supposed lore ruling.
Also secondly, it’s not the first time Blizzard has said one thing when literally everything in the game points otherwise. Like Death Knights supposedly not being undead.
As current, just because we haven’t seen any worgen young in game doesn’t mean they’re not out there.
It was in a Ask CDev thingie awhile ago.
" Can worgen reproduce naturally or only through a bite or blood? Would their child be a worgen or normal?
The worgen curse is exactly that: a curse. Its origins are rooted in the druidic “pack form” that was later altered by the Scythe of Elune. The end result is the worgen we see today, beings that can transmit their affliction to others via a single bite.
In theory, if two worgen were to mate and produce an offspring, that offspring would not be a worgen. The child would merely possess the genetic material of his or her parents, like any other child sans the curse."
I grabbed it from Wowpedia’s record of it. Here is the link to that page.
https://wow.gamepedia.com/Ask_CDev#Ask_CDev_Answers_-_Round_4
Its very official. Worgen children have the genetics of their parents but not the curse. It is, AT CURRENT, not passed on.
So that is the lore we have on it.
Unlike with tails this one is rather clear.
I appreciate you actually digging that up. That said, everything in game points otherwise there’s a lot more to the “curse” than what the devs originally said. So I don’t believe it’s as clear cut as they’re trying to make it be in that old interview.
Especially since that interview was from way back when Metzen was still part of Blizzard.
Nothing I know of contends the Curse not spreading to their children. The Heritage Questline almost confirms currently that Blizzard is moving away from the Curse and focusing on being Gilnean.
As I said, for right now, at current. Gilnean children born of worgen afflicted parents do not produce worgen. This is just how it is. Right now.
Could they change it? Sure. They haven’t though.
That all said, what folk do in their own stories is up to them.
I feel that was a bad move on their part to be completely fair. I mean Gileans without the curse are just humans, really no different than humans from Stormwind.
This is also quite true. This was an interesting discussion though. I appreciate it.
Oh it drives me insane.
Our curse, while indeed a curse, a challenge, makes us strong.
Our Humanity and holding onto it? That makes us stronger.
Worgen, Gilneans, we need both.
Felt like Tess should have taken the Curse and put Genn in his place. Reminded him that hes been wrong before. This curse is our strength.
Aye.
And I will say, I think the curse should have a chance at spreading. Like if it had been my choice at that Dev interview, I’d have made it a 50/50 chance sort of deal. That way all the players can make that determination in their own stories without anyone being able to say anything about it. (I also totally would have slipped in tails)
Seriously! They could’ve added an entire questline were, us, the ones who have had the Curse arguably the longest (referring back to the starter zone where they were all surprised the medication even worked on you), could help her learn to control the beastial rage within.
grumpy fem worgen noises
We could have even been the ones who gave her the blood.
That would be heritage.
If you want a race with a tail you could just play Vulpera which is already in WoW.
