Give us playable Satyrs

Hello GD. I am here with another race suggestion. Satyrs. (Yes, I’m sure is not a new idea)

We all know the lore of Satyrs and that they have been historically very bad but here’s the thing, they don’t have to be.

There’s a good satyr from the Ashenvale storyline who seeks redemption Avrus Illwhisper. Yes, it’s just one guy but that proves their minds aren’t 100% fel or void controlled, they can make decisions for themselves.

Now with Xavius defeated back in Legion, their leader is gone. We have seen the old gods didn’t use them now nor the legion, they are truly alone and it stands to reason that some would want to return and lead better lives now that the fight for the nightmare is over.

It’s the same as how Dark Iron eventually joined us after Ragnaros was gone.

So we have a group of Satyrs who decide to seek redemption. Now we know Elune isn’t really so calm and happy now and that her power is kinda blocked so they aren’t really transformed back into night elves, just accepted and their fel/void blood calmed.

“But what about female satyrs?” The male model isn’t really playable so both would’ve to be worked on, as to how female satyrs would look. Both reforged and the Legion concept art have answers

Those look awesome! definitely something many would love to play. Both Satyrs could be modified from Nelf DHs adding some more work or even a new rig which would be the best TBH.

Satyrs could be: Warrior, DK, Shaman, Hunter, Rogue, Monk, Mage, Warlock and Priest.

Which works well because the Alliance really needs more shaman too.

Ogres first.

Or ogres also. The Alliance can have satyrs.

Just adding another example of this. The Witchwood Piper in Hearthstone.

Why not both?

Yes, Horde gets ogres, Alliance gets satyrs and we finally get the mythical females of both races.

That one is even cuter!!

Alliance doesn’t need a race just for shamans. It needs a race people actually want to play. In terms of ar, the only core races left that don’t have an ar with their rig is worgen and forsaken. Satyr does sound like a nice base idea though.

The female Draenei population would take a nose dive if they added Satyr(females) that look like the ones posted here.

Even the male Draenei and Night elves would take a hit too.

Could hold up as a worgen allied race but would favor closer to Anduin if Tyrande is just seeking blood.

Oh the shaman thing is more like a bonus that is also a good reason to add for them. On the ARs, Well, technically humans don’t have a rig based AR and goblins don’t have an AR based on their race itself so I think that rule is not so applicable anymore but in any case, technically the alliance doesn’t have any NElf-related AR either yet.

Not necessarily, if it’s by the looks, Draenei still have the sexy alien appeal and I’m sure they would keep the booty appeal above them too. They would bring a new angle to the demoness look though for sure. But would be an awesome alternative.

I think Tyrande seeking blood could work. Maybe then she’s more willing to forgive past enemies if they are able to help her get revenge on the Horde. Alternatively, since Tyrande is gone in a crusade, Malfurion is more willing to accept them by himself as a way to get back on Xavius.

Look at those hairy legs, dont think so :grimacing:

As for adding them in game, sure why not? Especially if they continue with allied races. Though I’d like some more unique races first like arakkoa or botani. I doubt either will ever be added, but I want :sob:

I think you forgot what the Satyrs took from her.

Oh you just had to…
Now I got goosebumps.

It was just A Satyr though, not all of them. I can see a clan of satyrs in Desolace or whatever step up.

Oh I mean yeah Satyrs have done a lot to nelves. But there are Satyrs all over the world that aren’t of the same group. And we have seen Tyrande doing stuff like killing the wardens to liberate Illidan and accepting back the Highborne to fight the cataclysm, also go all in on the forbidden ritual of Elune.

If she thought some redeemed Satyrs would help fight the horde, I think she would accept them.

Draenei eat roasted Arakkoa.

Definitely just one Satyr but goes to show more could follow. Heck the recruitment quest could have this one guy looking for more Satyrs willing to step up and change their lives now that Xavius is gone.

What kind of racial abilities do you think the Satyr should/would have?

If they’d done that at the time, perhaps. But it’s a little late for them to say “oh, yeah, that guy five years ago, we really hated him but we didn’t do anything about it”.

They pulled the AU mag’har out of thin air. there was no reason to pull them, no lore or such for it. So, wynaut?

Don’t forget the void elves as well. It would have been far better if it were a group of high elves(blue eyes) who were losing control of their addiction and turned to Alleria for a solution.

What seems weird is that now Tyrande doesn’t forgive the Nightborne-- which are Highborne.
