So right now WW monks are lacking ways to deal AoE DMG and they are not as competitive as other classes right now
I would like to see some better ways to deal AoE dmg just te be able to be competitive in M+ scenarios
-Dance of Chi-ji, in my eyes this is a problematic talent, since makes devs having to think about this talent while buffing ww monks, i would like to see this gone or have move ways to proc it, like revolving whirl
Some ideas would be
-
Each time we use Striket of the Windlord get a chi-ji proc
-
After x amount of Fist of fury hits get a chi-ji proc this would make that in a big pack after one use a FoF we would have something to follow up in terms of AoE dmg
-
Or honestly i as said before, remove Chi-ji talent, and buff spinning crane kick, this would be my main option
-
Other options would be buff chi-ji back to 300% but this would be the worst of all in my opinion, since it makes us have big burst of aoe but in random procs which i honestly dont like
Also another question, if any devs look at this, why wisdom of the wall makes you deal SHADOW damage instead of nature, where’s the logic behind a monk, doing shadow damage, i unsterstand about bone dust brew because was the theme of Maldraxxus but outside of that why are we doing shadow damage instead of nature?

umm what did i just read…not good at aoe when we can do over 1mil damage each aoe pull…
1mil AOE damage isn’t very much depending on what item level and key you are doing.
On topic, I don’t think we need MORE ways to do AOE, but our current AOE abilities need to have more umph.

I’d like to propose removing a layer of AoE restriction from FoF. Let FoF full cleave the first five targets it hits, then half to everything past it.
As for DoCJ. Please just delete it and revert MotC to 50% a mark. Or, best of both worlds here, delete the damage from DoCJ and then revert MotC to 50% a mark because SCK spam does eat up resources so freebies are nice.
Buffing mark of the crane bonus SCK damage is really the only way Blizzard can increase our AoE with the least impact to our ST. Even then, for any boss that has regular adds, it will mean a buff to our ST damage. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, as we have room to fairly grow our ST damage as well.
The only other way involves design changes. Considering that we are fundamentally the same as we were in BFA, which was not a large change from Legion, such change is unlikely. Fundamental change to WW/monk and to a lesser extent, monk, is not of interest to Blizzard.
I think maybe we shouldn’t be capped at 5 targets before the drop off. Maybe we can get 7 or 8 before a drop?
We have burst AOE when everything lines up just right, but constant sustained AOE is just not there. If we could spread mark and just use SCK reliably without needing procs for it to be viable, it would put us in a better position without being OP.
Can we remove the restriction from whirling dragon punch that rsk and fof are in cd? This would help our burst because we don’t need to “ramp” to use this and proc chi ji and then sck.
So many others can burst up to 6-8m in higher keys and I’m hitting 2-3m. We do have a more consistent aoe profile. We need more oomph and remove the wdp restriction.
