Just tired of you folks in the “no changes” crowd. There is no legitimate reason to not introduce Dual Spec earlier than to keep the bloody murder screaming to its usual dull roar.
Sure there’s a reason. You just don’t agree with the merit or value of it. That doesn’t constitute an invalid reason.
I am speaking as someone who has respecced a often as 6 times a week for months. It is 100% a waste of time. Anyone trying to decry it as some game defining feature obviously does not use the respec feature often, and I will continue disregarding their opinions as those of a troll.
See I do respect what you’re saying about the hassle (if that’s the right word)…but the counter-point has always been ‘meaningful choices’. Again, you’re free to disagree with the value of that counter-point, but it doesn’t become “trolling” for someone else to value it more highly than “efficiency”.
There is no meaningful choice when the respec option is right there, for what amounts to a relatively minor if inconvenient amount of gold. Meaningful choice would be if you were hard locked into your spec, with maybe a limited time to respec during the start of a major patch.
Well I’ll concede that the ability to visit a trainer at any time now, pay a fee and clear one’s talent tree does not constitute permanency, it does make significant restriction on changing specs…the fact that you’re advocating a change to it, proves it. I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree with where the line should be for changes to the Classic line of releases.
I really doubt that Blizzard is going to spend the money and effort to add dual specs to TBC just to rip it out in 18 to 24 months when Wrath comes out.
I am just here to make you ask twice.
BC Classic already has Dual-Spec: You simply make a 2nd character. Choices should matter. Retail ruined choices.
You brought up the word ‘enjoyable’.
Enjoyable to me is knowing that my class and my spec is something that I spent every level working on and honing. When I’m asked to join a group for a dungeon or raid, it is due to my specialty or skill. I like that each character is specific to their particular role and spec and are good at what they do. It’s nice knowing that other characters can’t just pay a few gold and suddenly ‘learn’ everything you spent 60 levels doing.
Yeah, exactly. You have to choose between two of three specs with Dual Spec. Don’t pretend that the walk to a trainer to spend a pittance of gold makes a spec “meaningful.” It’s an annoyance that dissuades players from enjoying more of their class. The vast majority of Classic players (not level 60 Shadowlands players) want Dual Spec. Every single large poll has displayed the same result; roughly 70% of players are in favor or Dual Spec.
Do you have a source for this? Because I do believe you are talking out of your butt.
You know what makes the choice meaningful - it’s the fact that every single thing you do in the game from level 2 - 60 revolves around that spec choice. What quest rewards do we want? What dungeons will we run because the Boss drops a BIS item for our spec? What enchants will we save items for in the bank? What profession is most suited to our spec? This is what makes the choice meaningfull, not the trips to the trainer.
What’ll happen if you have to ask twice?
Would polls with large sample sizes be enough for you? I doubt it. I really hope some Shadowlands content comes out soon so the Classic players can get back to discussing things.
21,000 votes. 79% in favor. This is a very large sample size and I suggest you do some research before you even bother claiming that it isn’t.
Define large.
TBC was the best expansion and perfect without dual spec. You should be here to play a timeless classic that is TBC.
I don’t care about authenticity. I only play games for fun. Classic is much more fun than retail, which I quit long before Classic. But I have the same complaints about classic that I had with vanilla. As a healer I wanted dual spec then and now. I’d like to have a dungeon healing spec and a questing spec especially for my druid. It’s painful to quest feral with a resto spec. I’m thinking of going feral and giving up on healing dungeons. There’s already a shortage of healers on my sever and the lack of dual spec is a strong reason why.
I’m enjoying it fine without Dual Spec.
And how were these 21,000 votes acquired? Any random person who isn’t even necessarily interested in BC Classic allowed to vote or an actual cross section of people interested in BC? Because it does potentially make a difference.
